I've posted this hand here because it made me laugh and i'm not really sure where to post it. If anyone thinks i played bad then i'll post it in the hand evalution thread as well. Ok before this hand i'd stacked the villain with KKs against his QQ's all in pre-frop, so then this happened

      Known players:
      Position:
      Stack
      Hero:
      $54.41
      UTG2:
      $25.00

      0.1/0.25 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: Elephant 0.70 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q:club: , Q:heart:
      UTG1 folds, UTG2 raises to $0.75, 6 folds, Hero raises to $2.25, UTG2 calls $1.50.

      Flop: ($4.60) 8:diamond: , J:club: , J:diamond: (2 players)
      Hero bets $3.25, UTG2 calls $3.25.

      Turn: ($11.10) 3:club: (2 players)
      Hero bets $8.25, UTG2 calls $8.25.

      River: ($27.60) 7:club: (2 players)
      Hero bets $11.25, UTG2 calls $11.25 (All-In).

      Final Pot: $50.10

      Results follow (highlight to see):
Hero shows two pairs, queens and jacks (Qc Qh)
UTG2 shows a flush, ace high (8c Ac)

UTG2 wins with a flush, ace high (8c Ac)

It did make smile so i said LOL NH in the chat box. To which the villain replies "well now we have both been coolered with QQ's". So i politely inform him that hitting a back door flush was not quite a cooler, especially given his overall play in this hand.

Now here is the thing, i love the fact he is willing to raise and call Axs pre-flop then call down 3 streets (as he would have called whether he hit the flush or not as he thought his 8 was good). Thats the sort of player i want to play against but, and this thing that is bothering me, he said he only did it cause he was ahead of my range.

I've played 25k hands at NL25 FR and my stats are 13/10 3.0 aggression. So i suppose my question is after such a long post is, is he talking rubbish??

Sorry for the long post but would really appreciate some opinions on the hand and his coments.

      Thanks

      James

Unless he had your cbet flop and cbet turn stats (which would have to be like 70% both for him to be right) he's just another fish who picked up a few poker terms and thinks he's the next Isildur1.

Ok thanks for your reply. I've just looked at my c-bet % stats and its 72% flop and 50% turn. I am trying to work on c-betting less but what would be a solid percentage?

It depends, cbetting is very situationally dependant. There Really is no Ideal cbet% imo. I'd say 72% seems pretty fine to me though. Mine is lower just because there are a lot of flops I don't like c betting and I try to get in hands with very loose players a lot who don't fold to cbets.

cbet air against the people who fold a lot, cbet only value hands against the people who don't. If you have a value hand on flop and note Villain has v. high Bet In Position (or OOP) versus missed cbet, then that's another opportunity to miss your cbet. Simple stuff really.

oh btw, he's talking rubbish about being ahead of your range unless he had misinformed stats on you. Versus your UTG2 Opening range A8s is an easy fold preflop.

Edit; Just remembered I had a similar hand today versus an 80/40 player who I knew stacked off super light. (should have bet bigger on turn to make river shove easier). Anyway, Enjoy.
