Why do you overbet so much? Imo bet 2/3 or 3/4 of pot on the turn and re-evaluate on the river.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      Play hand

      $0.01/$0.02 No-Limit Hold'em (4 handed)

      Known players:
      BU(Hero):
      $2.51
      SB:
      $2.11
      BB:
      $2.99
      CO:
      $4.47

Preflop: Hero is BU with J, J.
CO calls $0.02, Hero raises to $0.08, 2 folds, CO calls $0.06.

      Flop: ($0.19) J, 5, K (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $0.18, CO calls $0.18.

      Turn: ($0.55) 8 (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $2.25, CO calls $2.25.

      River: ($5.05) 9 (2 players)

      Final Pot: $5.05.
      Results follow:

      CO shows a flush, ace high(A T).
Hero shows three of a kind, jacks(J J).

CO wins with a flush, ace high(A T).

I think, that he made a mistake here, because he was just on a draw, so I wanted to do very expensive river for him, that i would win this hand right here. Also I think if he would floped a flush, he would reraise my, no slowplay. And here, I had redraw to fullhouse if he would have a flush. But I think that he made a mistake, or did I made a mistake too?

      Hi,

As played his turn call is retarded, so your play wasn't bad provided you knew he'd stack off so light. If you have no read on him i don't like it, most people will only call you with a made flush on the turn so you're just asking to get it in as a big underdog. Just bet pot again and see what happens.

You'll develop bad habits in cash games if you're always afraid of the next card, the goal is to make the best play in each situation, not to try and prevent some of them to happen at all.

      Hope it helps.
