This post contains two hands highlighting the same issue... how to play flopped flushes where my hand is vulnerable to a fourth flush card on the turn or river. I feel quite lost in these situations.

      Hand 1:

      $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Holdem
      6 Players
      Hand Conversion Powered by weaktight.com

      Stacks:
      UTG ($7.01)
      Hero (UTG+1) ($18.30)
      CO ($5.32)
      BTN ($4.99)
      SB ($8.05)
      BB ($12.26)

      Pre-Flop: ($0.15, 6 players) Hero is UTG+1 8:heart: 7:heart:
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.40, 2 folds, SB calls $0.35, BB calls $0.30

      Flop: J:heart: 6:heart: 2:heart: ($1.20, 3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.85, SB calls $0.85, BB folds

      Turn: 9:heart: ($2.90, 2 players)
SB bets $1.45, Hero calls $1.45

      River: J:diamond: ($5.80, 2 players)
      SB bets $5.35, Hero folds

      Final Pot: $11.15

      SB wins $10.86 (net +$2.81)

      BB lost $0.40
      Hero lost $2.70

      Hand 2:

      CO ($6.51)
      BTN ($9.41)
      SB ($3.72)
      Hero (BB) ($10)

      Pre-Flop: ($0.15, 6 players) Hero is BB 6:diamond: 5:diamond:
      1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.10, 1 fold, BTN raises to $0.28, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.18, UTG+1 calls $0.18

      Hi,

I'd bet bigger on the first flop like $1, and i'd raise bigger on the second flop to like $1.2, and i'm obviously going broke on both flops if possible.

As played in the first hand on the turn it's really sad spot because we're like 2-outing to a straight flush and yet who folds a straight flush draw? Maybe we can convince ourselves that SB is an idiot and might be bluffing there or playing Jx like that for no good reason, but more often than not we're just up against a big heart so sad as it is mathematically it's a fold without deeper stacks or a better read.

      Hope it helps.
