So in the last couple of days I have visited PartyPoker.com and have found that the Firefox Web Of Trust application lists that website as a dangerous site. I thought this was really fishy.

Anyway, so just now I visit the Mansion Poker website and it is also rated dangerous by Web Of Trust. But I ignored the warning and started downloading the installer for the site and my anti-virus pops up and calls the Mansion Poker installer a Trojan.

      What gives?

PS> For those not aware, the Web Of Trust is an add-on for Mozilla Firefox which through it's community rates various websites as safe or unsafe. Multiple negative reviews are required to mark a website as unsafe or safe.

I am using Sunbelt Vipre Antivirus.

I am going to go through all of the Poker sites and will note each of them and how they are rated.

I just read on another forum - whether it's true or not I don't know - but some people in a very popular poker forum claimed to be able to sit at multiple seats on a single table on the Mansion Poker network with only one computer.

Alright I will go through the list one by one:

      1) Pacific Poker - Dangerous
      2) Party Poker - Dangerous (My Antivirus says this is a questionable program)
      3) Bet365 - Safe
      4) PokerStars - Safe
      5) Full Tilt - Safe
      6) BetFred - Safe
      7) Cake Poker - Safe
      8) Everest Poker - Warning
      9) Bwin - Safe
      10) Unibet - Warning
      11) Mansion Poker - Dangerous (Installer rated as Trojan by my Antivirus)
      12) Poker Heaven - Safe
      13) Titan Poker - Warning
      14) Ladbrokes - Warning
      15) Betfair - Safe
      16) InterPoker - Safe

Just because Poker software may come with Casino software, doesn't explain a Trojan warning IMO.

If you put any effort into this you will find why some antivirus programs mark pokersoftware as potentially dangerous. And that's also why people rate those sites as dangerous as well, since they don't really know any better..
Or that's what I think, anyway..

I've never had any problems with PokerStars. My Antivirus checks out PokerStars as being okay and Web Of Trust says it's all good.

People can choose to use whatever site they like. I just think they should have this information.

If it was just WOT that gave me a warning I would be less concerned, especially with well known sites like Party Poker. But when my Antivirus agrees with Web Of Trust then I go by the 2 to 3 witnesses rule.

Deut 19:15 "By the mouth of two or three witnesses the matter shall be established."

Edit: I've just finished downloading Full Tilt's software and my Antivirus says it's clean.

Most of the poker software comes with a built in casino packaged together.

These are flagged occasionally as dangerous, but as long as you use the big major poker providers (like the tried & tested partners of PokerStrategy) and use the official downloads, you shouldn't encounter any problems.

I sometimes have to disable my antivirus & firewall to install poker apps, but make sure that you re-enable after your done.

      Best regards,
