      Hello everyone,

My name is Dimitri 'GodBlessMali' V. I'm 21 years old and I'm currently living in Nancy, France. I hope you won't mind if I do some English mistakes but I think it will be comprehensible to read.

I stopped studying about 2 ½ year ago because of my sickness and I've been looking for a job but unfortunately I still didn't find one. I used to be a Warcraft III player (ReiGn of Chaos and The Frozen Throne) where I got the chance to meet great people but last summer, I decided to spend less time to Warcraft and more for Poker.

I discovered Poker thanks to a friend from Warcraft III who introduced me to PokerStrategy. Firstly, I thought that poker was a game "predicated on" luck but after reading articles from this site, I realized that I was totally wrong. So I quickly got captivated by the game and I started to care more about this game.

When I received the 50$ from this site, it took me about 3 days to lose them all, I was really disappointed but it was completely my fault because I played too many hands (if I am right, I had about 40-45 VPIP, if it can mean something to you) and I played in 10NL which was a big mistake since I didn't have the bankroll for this limit but I didn't know that 2NL existed.

Then, I made 2 deposits but I lost my money again and last Christmas, I decided to make a last deposit and spend more time on PokerStrategy to watch more videos. Videos from hasenbraten really helped me a lot and I want to thank him for his good work. Videos from Myrddin (A coach from the French version) helped me a lot as well.

So after watching many videos, I gave a try again in 2NL and here is my graphic after 4 days and 13K hands.

I am a bit disappointed by this graph because I have some difficulties for beginning my sessions, I am often negative so I have to do my best to be positive again and then I must keep playing good to make some $$.

Here is some stats to help you to criticize me:

I also would like to share some stats by position:

If there are stats which are missing, feel free to ask and I'll post them.

I hope you enjoyed reading the first post of my blog, if there are advices you want to give, feel free to do it and I really hope this blog will be rewarding both for me and you.

      I'm waiting for your answers,

      Kind regards,
      GodBlessMali

      Hello everyone,

There is a hand I played today that I think I didn't play that good and I need your opinions.

      Here is the hand:

Here are some hands I played today and which pissed me off. The start of this day was perfect, I had +10$ but then I took a break to analyze some hands and I decided to play again and I got a lot of bad luck as well as some bad play from me.

      Hand N°1:

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      Play hand

      $0.01/$0.02 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

      Known players:
      BB (Hero):
      $2.00
      MP2:
      $3.98
      MP3:
      $2.80
      CO:
      $2.55
      BU:
      $2.31
      SB:
      $1.11

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, K.
      MP2 calls $0.02, MP3 raises to $0.06, 3 folds, Hero raises to $0.18, MP2 calls $0.16, MP3 calls $0.12.

      Flop: ($0.55) 5, T, A (3 players)
      Hero bets $0.30, MP2 raises to $0.60, MP3 folds, Hero raises to $1.82, MP2 calls $1.22.

      Turn: ($4.19) J (2 players)

      River: ($4.19) 5 (2 players)

      Final Pot: $4.19.

      Results follow:

      MP2 shows a full-house, fives full of tens(5h Th).
Hero shows two pairs, aces and fives(Ac Kc).

MP2 wins with a full-house, fives full of tens(5h Th).

I don't think it was a mistake to push all-in knowing that I had TPTK with a flush draw, I really thought I had the better hand but I lost to this fish ...

      Hand N°2

UTG2 shows two pairs, aces and eights(8h As).

UTG2 wins with two pairs, aces and eights(8h As).

I usually don't reraise with QQ preflop but I was facing two donks who play any two and who easily call so it was a good way to make them call. On the flop, I bet much and I am called and there is this fucking river, the donk bets and I am forced to call and I lose against A8o lol ....

hiyo, regarding your KJ hand - i'd mostly call there because if i saw the stack sizes correctly, that guy was a short stack and u only needed to pay like 40cent-ish more

-you could also call if he shoves on the flop because short stackers often shove middle pairs, weak top pairs, etc. - it just depends on the opponent, try to see if he is tight pre-flop, does he raise often and what hands. same goes for post-flop, does he shove easily or just when he is super strong.

by knowing these things u will sometimes call there, sometimes wont - if you raised like that and he re-raises that little, u'll obviously call :D
      ------------------------

however, in your hand ur not 1on1 vs short stacker but got another big stacker in there. he just called on the flop so i'd definitely at least call and then either check or bet on turn depending what card shows up.

since he just called, he could easily have a flush draw, a straight draw, a gutshot, or a top pair with some backdoor draw etc. - aka JT,QT,KT, T7s etc. So besides calling you can consider pushing him out of the hand right there.

Only hands that beat you there are like stronger Kings, KQ and such, KK is not likely, he might just call pre-flop with AK but also u wont run into AK here that often I think. Another problem is that he could be on a flush draw+oesd, which kind of sux for you but you're still not that huge of an underdog, think he has 57% at best or something, too lazy to equilate, I could be wrong :D

So in general I'd say you're ahead of his range there most of the time so that you can easily shove right there - or as I said, just call and then bet turn if you'll feel more comfortable. Though now that I think about it, that would be giving a free card to the guy and in poker you want to get your money in while you're ahead, aka raising there/shoving is good.

Besides Kings and draws, he could also be on a set or a 2pair which he slowplays, but those are less likely and if players like to slowplay such hands often > put a note on them so you can add such hands in their range when they play passively on the flop.

Basically if the board was dry, it would be an easier fold depending on the bet sizes etc. because then the big stacker will so often be ahead of you with KQ, or split pot KJ, or he will have a weird 2pair, more likely slowplayed set. etc. - so in this situation, his range is much wider :)

Anyway that's my thoughts on the hand :D

      Hey Dendra,

Thanks for sharing your opinion about this hand. Actually, I had some notes about the player and when he raises the CB, he mostly have a hand, that's why I didn't want to had 0.45$ in the pot because I really thought I was beaten by KQ or two pairs =(
