      maybe too big bets.
99 is the most dangerous possible hand at flop. Turn 9 and it`s good. If he is lucky moron and showed 99 or maybe 9J - that is not your fault.

even with 2 pairs i would have slowed down a bit with 100bb in play.

your hand is good but it ain't the nuts.

preflop bet size is (pot size is good).

flop you don't need to protect your hand is likely to be the best and you want to keep villain in the pot if possible.

      I probably would have bet 1/2 pot ($0.36) to 2/3 max ($0.48)

let's call it $0.40 (new pot at turn $1.52)

9 comes now you in a way ahead, way behind situations the few hands that beat you (9x, KK AA) are so far ahead that you wont be catch it. other hands
are unlikely to catch you. There is the backdoor flush draw diamond hitting the turn to which you might want to protect against but again it is unlikely.

i would either check turn, call river for pot control, possibility of inducing a bluff. or bet 1/2pot ($0.75) which is more than enough to protect for a flush draw with one card to come and one oponent.
