River is easy fold but on the turn is simply folding better?

Hand converted with online hand converter:

      Known players:
      BU (Hero):

Preflop: Hero is BU with 7, 7.
2 folds, CO calls $0.05, Hero raises to $0.22, 2 folds, CO calls $0.17.

      Flop: ($0.51) 2, 8, 2 (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $0.24, CO calls $0.24.

      Turn: ($0.99) 5 (2 players)
CO bets $0.99, Hero calls $0.99.

      River: ($2.97) 3 (2 players)
CO bets $2.97, Hero folds, CO gets uncalled bet back.

How weird of him. And yes, people donkbetting pot into you are usually serious unless you have a reason not to think so, so you should be prepared to call another river bet if you call that turn. That would require you putting him on some kind of floated overcards and/or spades redraw, it's a stretch. Just folding the turn is likely for the best.

      Hope it helps.
