Hy all...
My name is Arnold (I had a rather creative moment when I invented my nickname :f_p: ) Im a pokerplayer from Serbia- but Im not serbian actually, Im hungarian( how did that happen?>> well in north Serbia there are around 200K hungarians living as a minority>>It doesnt suck as much as it seems :) )

Btw I will remove the *BRAND NEW* sign in a few days, I just have to promote the blog somehow since Im rather unknown newcomer :s_p: ... I know I should have put *BIG TITS* or *Paris Hilton starts playing poker* insted of *BRAND KNEW*, but I dont want to be so commercialistic, and that would dissapoint a lot of people:D so Im sticking to this *BRAND NEW* thing

I've joined Pokerstrategy last year when I started playing poker, about a year ago. For the 50$ to be honest, which I have lost pretty quickly. Actually I've started playing live poker when a friend invited me to play at a local club. I went there a few times/lost some money-and observed a strange thing, time and time again the same people made the FT or got ITM, I got curious, and started looking it up online-thats how I found Strategy.
But I was not willing to learn, I liked to play-but I lost constantly with no BRM and/or skills (I must have thought it was enough to register to such a site :D ). So I've decided to start learning and post my struggles and successes in a blog(on hungarian). I have advanced rather quickly-the results kept coming. My favourite game type is probably the MTTs. But Im triing to improve my Sng and CG play aswell.

I had my ups and downs since then, won a few MTTs, the biggest one was for around 5000$. In my "early days" I had a big problem with tilting, lost some money at higher limit cash tables where I did not belong. I didnt know what bankroll management was.- but I have no problem with anger management anymore thank God.

Im against the "badbeat whining/cursing fishes" kind of posts. As far as Im concerned I want players to be fishy, make mistakes etc. I want to make money from them-not to teach them :s_p: .

Current status:
Im playing at 2 sites>>>Pokerstars and Pokerheaven

Pokerstars: Im a low(triing to move up to mid-) stakes MTT regular, and nowadays Im triing to become a SnG 16$ regular aswell. Its not a light field but its not unbeatable.

Pokerheaven: I've recently (about 2 weeks ago) opened an account at this client because of the great bonuses( constant promotions, rake races, rakeback and FD ofc). My bankroll has doubled since then, and its looking great. Im playing 0.10/0.25 CG and 11eur SnGs and a few MTTs(the players are much easier to beat than on Stars). My bankroll is getting close to allow me to play on NL50, I cant wait to move up.

So thats about it-hope I will be able to post some interesting things about my "career" and some other stuff aswell:s_cool:
So if you have anything to add/ask, dont hesitate :f_thumbsup:
Im gonna try to publish posts regularly- and I want to apologise for any grammatical mistakes that I make. Also If you have a blog give me a link or just tell me, and I will add them to the favourites-triig to be part of the english pokerstrategy community aswell. Oh, yeah I almost forgot, improving my english was one of the main reasons I've opened this blog.

Gl at the tables and keep it simple guys :s_biggrin:

...turns into gold. Well yesterdays session was quite the opposite. Everything I've touched turned into sh.t. :s_mad:
Was amazing really. I guess it was one of those days...

Pokerstars: only a few MTTs, it started pretty badly, did not manage to build a decent stack in any of the tournaments, so I've decided to play some SnGs instead, played a few, finished with a minimal profit.
Later on I opened up a few NL25 SH cash tables(which I dont do very often at Stars), and ran into horrific things, after a few hours of play and -2,5BI shorter I've decided to call it a day at Stars. Btw in one of the tournaments I have finished before ITM, like 2 places from it. I wouldnt say it would have boosted my bankroll or anything if I had finished ITM, but its always a bit frustrating if you bust right before the payout.
I hope I have a better session today...

Pokerheaven: it was another day in the office here, nothing particulary interesting, cash games NL25 SH and a few FR-for some reason I dont really like to play FR, I dont feel comfortable enough, dont know why, will try to work on that though.
Only 2 MTTs, without any result, the SnGs went well, made some profit. Tried a few bigger SnGs 16-22eur, and I did quite good. The players are not any thougher than the ones on the 10eur, I guess its not a big limit change. Only a few regulars are playing these SnGs, the grinding goes on the higher limit cash games I guess.

Todays session will start rather late because of the Champions League, hope my favourite teams will advance to the next phase-Arsenal & Bayern

Thats about it, see You soon...

Hy guys...thank you for your comments & wishes, they are very much appreciated

First of all...wohooo!!! Arsenal and Bayern are in the next knockout round- I cant wipe the smile of my face. Hope the RNG wont help with this issue tonight :P
So...

@TheBu11d0g: Go gunners- In Arsen We trust :D (and ofc get well soon Ramsey, poor lad). Which limit do you play on? fav game type? (this is a question to like everybody who reads the blog) blog maybe?

@Jackalof: I'll make sure to tell you about how did my online "carrier" start, which MTTs did I win etc.- lets say tomorrow morning, now I will try to grind a little at the tables :f_biggrin:

@GooRukYONG: I wont rush moving up, but I fell its about time, all I need is enough money to do this- I dont want to ignore BRM

I see you have your own blogs, so I will visit them aswell and try to write something useful in it...or at least something (useful is maybe too much to ask :f_p: ) :D

I've found a thread tonight (I think its called "March Goals") and posted my own goals for March, so I will post it in here aswell>>>yes I will let you all see me fail :D
So here they are...the "goals":

[ ] win tournaments on Pokerstars and Pokerheaven- (at least one would be nice)
[X] beat the 16$ SnGs on Pokerstars
[$] move up to NL50 at Pokerheaven
[ ] qualify for the WPT Paris or the Irish Open-(longshots...like very-very long)

Hey guys, the report of yesterdays session...

Pokerstars: bad-thats the perfect word to describe the day...the BR is
getting smaller and smaller. Hey its really my fault because of 2 things: I always cash out a big % of my tournament winnings. I still have to pay the rent and tuition (Im a student of a business university in Novi Sad

So at Stars Im on my usual rollercoaster ride of MTTs.I cant help it, I love them so much. I dont really have the time to play the 16$ SnGs. Im to busy grinding at PHeaven- I dont know why did I add them as a goal for march. So Im triing to take down another tournament- last week I came so close on 2 occasions...daily 30k 22nd and 50k Gtd rebuy 19th place. maybe this week will be different.

Btw, does anyone know how does OPR work, like how long does it record your tournament winnings. It shows that I have a profit of around 2K when it should be around 7K, and overall winnings around 25K...but is shows 18K overall and 2K profit? It changed in January as I recall it...hmmm never mind.

PokerHeaven: great night, in cash games I ran very good, the NL50 is getting so close I can almost taste it (<<<too dramatic?? :D ) I've played a few SnGs aswell, didnt ran so good, neh cant ask for much more than this, in 2 weeks I have almost 3x my bankroll...didnt run too hot, but there are some fishes who are always happy to push there stacks over to me, so when I get stacked I dont have to worry about it too much. I cant clear the FD bonus, thats for sure. I cleared a small amount of my 1000eur pending bonus- I still have like 15 days to go. but Im almost up to 1500eur in 2 weeks from 500, so thats kind of cool ^^ + the rake race which I did not include, rakeback...etc. So life is good here (not like at Stars<<<stop whining, idiot :D :s_p: )

The Arnode89 Begins post will be up in a few hours, I must go to class...Im already late, but still...Im gonna search youtube for some inspirational music to make the post a little more dramatic...
Until then bye :s_wink:

Based on a true story :D

I cant tell you the exact date when I started to play poker. But it was last spring thats for sure. After a football training my teammate asked me if I want to go play at a local club on a 5eur event. Why not right? its only a question of luck...(I thought)

We went there a few times, but it was kind of far from where I was living, and thats when I saw a poker commercial. I need to play on the internet- I said to myself-started freerolling...I remember I was so happy when I won a few cents, but soon that wasnt enough. I wanted to play "for real", I went to the bank and got a Visa virtuon card, with which I deposited a few bucks to Pokerstars. First depo bonus well used...I didnt know what it was back then :f_confused:
And I lost 10$, then 20$ then 25$ and so on...then found pokerstrategy, hmm free 50$ cool. Of course I lost that also.

When did I start learning?
I kept playing like this for a few months, than in the summer a player at a table called me an "idiot fish"- who will never learn the game and will only lose for his whole life...That was the moment when I decided to start learning, read an article, watched a video, than another one and another one, bought a book, Dan Harrington- Tournament Strategy, read it. And than I deposited 100$...Started playing at the 3$ SnGs and played 3$ rebuy tours (about 3 times weekly).
In August I finished on the 6th place in one of them won around 2600$, went to Greece enjoyed the seaside with my girlfriend :D
When I got back I continued playing, got few houndred $ from different tournaments, finished 4th on another rebuy tournament 3000$, won the 1R1A 10K gtd Stars tournament-5000K, made the FT of the Daily 30K never won it-yet!. Recently, in February I won the 11$ 15K gtd for 3000$ and the 8$ 500cap 1500gtd for 770$, made the FT at the 11$ 1R1A 850$, On Pokerheaven made back-to-back FT on the 10eur rebuy (for around 500eur) . In March still nothing, well I hope that my luck wont abandon me in the late stages of the tournaments like it did last week (as I mentioned it earlier 22nd place and 19th place)

Actually Im very thankful to that player- unfortunately I dont remember his name. Whitout him I might have stayed a very bad player, who would lose his money whenever he sits down to a poker table. So thank you Mr. Anonymus :s_grin:
Btw, thats why I always ask the fellow poker players not to comment another players bad play- or at least not in an offensive manner. I've started learning because I felt hurt and I wanted to show the other players (including Mr. Anonymus) that I can play good, and looked for a way to do that. I have found it. Im still very far away of becoming a really good player, but I feel Im on the right track, and Im going to learn and improve as much as I can and as fast as I can.

Theres one thing you should never forget...no mather what anyone says, they cant tell you what you can or cannot achieve. Its up to you and YOU only.

If you can dream it, you can do it

I liked to be inspired, and he is one of my personal heroes. It could help you with your life if you find your goal and the motivation to achieve it.
Believe it and take it to the next level :s_thumbsup:

So that would be it. I will make sure to report my progress, ups & downs regularly.
Gl at the tables, see You soon :s_cool:

Hey Arnold,

What a great win for the gunners last night.

As for game types and limits i am currently playing NL 10 FR and soon to be moving up to NL25 and i have just started trying to improve my tournament play as well. My biggest tournament win so far was a sixth place for $110.

All the best mate,
-Steve

Hy guys, I had a rough week so far at Pokerstars, it seems Im having my "can't win a f*cking flip" period. Im getting deep in some of the tournaments, but only a few smaller cashes.
However I've continued my run at PokerHeaven got the BR for the NL50 :f_biggrin:
Had 2 FTs yesterday, unfortunately I only managed to win around 350euros. 9th place on the 3500Gtd my kings couldnt hold against AJ for the CL-board xJxxJ :( , and 4th on the 3000gtd(I think)- I was the shortest stack of the 4 players, pushed a suited connector-ran into a pair.
So one of the goals accomplished, one of them failed-the 16$ SnGs on Stars.
Still 2 to go...it will be interesting to see how will I do on the NL50 game, Im not saying that Im scared, but I really want to do good and stay there more than a few days. I already started thinking about that if I catch a bad run when will I move back to NL25 ( hurray for positive thinking :D ) and I've decided to move back at 900-950euros, it may be a little nitty( actually you have to move back when you go down to 750eur ), but better safe than sorry.
So I will play my first session Saturday, today I will drink a couple of beers with my friends & catch up, we havent seen each other for a while.
Gl at the tables and remember never surprise buttsecks an elephant while its eating...never

...went terribly wrong. Everything was bad...real bad. Im very-very dissapointed :s_cry:
played 4 tables, NL50 SH, at PokerHeaven...I felt good, confident, doubled up on 1 of the tables...than the horror started...I ran into AK with AQs, KK with QQ
Flopped a set with 22 on a board of xA2, got the money in against AJ turn A, river J, JJ vs AK- K of course. JJ vs AJ- A came...
Despite the sick bad beats I wasnt thrilled with my play...wasted a lot of money on senseless 3bets, when I knew the villain will call with any2 cards.
so I got a big slap on my first session...I think I will try FR next time, but first I need to recover from this session...both mentaly and financialy

I will have a monster MTT session in the evening at Pokerstars and some MTTs and SnGs on PokerHeaven aswell, hopefully I will run better than on this one...It couldnt be much worse thats for sure

Cool blog so far ^^

I wish I would play more MTTs, they seem soooo fun to me (SnGs look like playing SSS cash games, no offence meant to anyone :f_p: ).
For now I'm just a poor grinder of nl4, soon-to-be 10 :P

Anyway, wasn't posting to brag about myself. Actually wanted to ask - Do you live in Novi Sad or just study there? Cuz I'll be coming next month, might hang out with you a bit if you're there :f_biggrin: ?

Anyway, good luck with he flips ;)
~vic

P.S. btw your blog inspired me to just open a 30man SnG [1st thing that was close to filled in cake] and guess how I busted 11/30? preflop 3 way AI - AJ(meh) vs. KT vs. QJ.. guess who won? QJ ofc :D

Ok, than I will make note of that in my busy schedule :D
Till then be sure to check back to see how Im doing :P

So guys...at Pokerheaven all the same, BR little more than 1k, rb now around 100eur, 26th place on the Strategy Rake race= 50$ (36eur)
The NL50 field is thougher than I thought it would be btw...
About the MTT session...no luck today, had some good runs, played around 20 tournaments both on Stars and Heaven, few smaller cashes, nothing special.
Btw I've decided that after my next bigger tournament cash, I will invest some % of the winnings into coaching- I clearly need it to be more than a small winner or a break even player. I want to hire one of the best coach here on Strategy, but I need to make something happen until then- because its not cheap. Quality has its price I guess.
About investements...tomorrow I will play 20- 12$ 180cap turbo SnGs on Stars, I will report about that in the evening before the "big" MTTs.
Take care, see You in the evening

Its over, it was a pretty good session, had some interesting spots- the final result was 1 ITM out of 20 tournaments- that was a FT bubble 23$. You cant be result oriantated, must judge a session by your play. At least Im triing to do that :D of course it would have been so much niceer if I had finished 1st on one of them.
So financially it was a bad day, but I played good enough and managed to put the money in good- I will start the big MTTs later in the evening, and start the regular grind on stars next week prolly, besides the MTTs I need to play some cash & SnGs aswell. To keep my BR balanced during the dry season at the MTT sessions.
Now I will grind a bit on Heaven :s_cool:
See you soon

Yesterday was a very bad day for poker-got deep on Pokerstars 11$ 1R1A, had a stack around 3x the average- and managed to bust before the itm...lost 3 all-ins almost in a row...I could not fold any of those hands. But, hey its poker...
One of my friends gave up his struggle on the poker tables, I tried to motivate him and make him change his mind, but he simply couldnt handle the dissapointment this game sometimes brings with itself

Shit happens, You must be able to handle it without too much fuss...
Im not saying I didnt feel down yesterday, I was sick of the bad beats and getting busted before the big money, but hey, cant win every hand- and if I go spewing the chips around, it wouldnt help a bit. Need to keep the big picture before me- follow my dream. Today will be my day or tommorow or the day after that or next week or next month...until then I just have to survive at the poker tables, play my game. Eventually Im gonna succeed...

At Pokerstars I have to reduce the number of the MTTs- I have to build my BR again, so I will play some 6.5$ SnGs (9-18-45cap), and play like max 3 MTTs at night...its slowing me down of course, but I cant go broke on Stars.
PokerHeaven I caught a bad run aswell (since I started this blog I run bad everywhere :P )

Todays plan is to play as much SnGs as I can...build my BR both on Stars and Heaven. Still a lot to do this month, but Im feeling confident that I will be able to survive these rough times and finish the month with a nice profit. :s_cool:
