      Hey,

As i got a second 50$ bankroll opportunity from PS (i burnt my first one being stupid and not caring about bankroll management... and being a fish :/) and playing around a bit with it(being stupid and careless again), I decided to open up this blog to keep myself motivated. I hope this will help me to manage my bankroll, since i would be ashamed to post here my "adventures" :)

I will be playing NL Holdem and following a 25 BI bankroll management.

As for goals for starters I will try to clear at least some of the 100$ additional bonus, which is released in 10$ increments for each 1200 merit points.

      So here's what we have:
      a starting bankroll of 40$
      starting merit points 132.48

So here we have my first evening of playing, didn't spend much time as its getting late here and i'm kinda tired. I usually try to spend at least 2 hours each day playing poker.

      Time spent: ~1h
      Result: +1.94
      Merit points gained: 3.52

And here's a question how i was supposed to play this hand on the flop ?

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      Play hand

      $0.01/$0.02 No-Limit Hold'em (8 handed)

      Known players:
      MP1:
      $5.12
      MP2:
      $4.71
      MP3:
      $0.99
      CO:
      $1.14
      BU (Hero):
      $1.85
      SB:
      $0.84
      BB:
      $1.00
      UTG2:
      $1.00

Preflop: Hero is BU with K, A.
      2 folds, MP2 calls $0.02, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.10, SB folds, BB calls $0.08, MP2 calls $0.08.

      Flop: ($0.31) K, 8, 5 (3 players)
BB checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets $0.14, BB folds, MP2 folds, Hero gets uncalled bet back.

First hello and grats for initiative.

@ hand you should've bet bigger on the flop (20-25) just for value, to build up the pot because you are prolly ahead here 85% of the time. KQ, KJ, KT, K9, QQ, JJ, TT, 99, 8, maybe even a 5 since it's nl2, 67 for OESD, all these hands call and you are ahead. just try to give your opponent a range and think if you are ahead.

Stick to BRM. Good luck :diamond:

Just a small session before going to work

      Time: ~30min
      Result: 2.78
      Merit points: 4.48

      And here's a two hands

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      Play hand

      $0.01/$0.02 No-Limit Hold'em (8 handed)

      Known players:
      UTG2:
      $0.96
      MP1:
      $1.00
      MP2:
      $2.17
      MP3:
      $0.98
      CO:
      $1.11
      BU (Hero):
      $1.97
      SB:
      $6.31
      BB:
      $1.96

Preflop: Hero is BU with A, Q.
      UTG2 calls $0.02, MP1 raises to $0.04, MP2 calls $0.04, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.04, SB calls $0.03, BB folds, UTG2 calls $0.02.

      Flop: ($0.22) 9, 5, 9 (5 players)
SB checks, UTG2 checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets $0.11, SB calls $0.11, UTG2 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds.

      Turn: ($0.44) A (2 players)
SB bets $0.68, Hero raises to $1.36, SB folds, Hero gets uncalled bet back.

      Final Pot: $1.12.

Brain fart in this one, I think I should have raised pre-flop, but i haven't finished my coffee yet. And the raise on turn... well SB looks like he likes to bluff, I think he would have raised more on flop if he had AK.

Against the same opponent as last hand... I think i shouldn't have done what I did, glad that it worked out.

      Opinions ?

opening 6x is never a good idea in my opinion. I don't know why your playing that stake with a $50 roll either.

      reasons opening 6x is bad:
-your playing your hand face up/ its easy to put you on a strong range
      - your killing off potential profit
      -your accelerating your losses
-cultivating a fishy image ( can be good, but I doubt it in this case :f_biggrin: )

-its easy to adjust to said range:

eg: if people expect you to do that with AK & AQ, but never see you do it with AA and KK for example, you will not be taken seriously. also remember there are only 4 combinations of AK in a deck. so its quite obvious to any wise player that its mathematically unlikely you will have a hand if you do that often.

summary: anyone that thinks they are behind will fold. anyone that calls will be ahead of you or drawing with you almost all the time. granted this won't be the case all the time on a 2NL table, as your playing with braindead opponents for the most part, making such habits will only cause you problems in the future!

      my suggestion:
keep your raise sizes preflop standard. this becomes less of an issue in reraised multi way pots, but lets not get into that for now.

Trying to keep with BM guidelines and not go mental like i do sometimes :)

Been quite busy yesterday/today but i'll try to squeeze an hour of poker before hitting the sack.

      Lousy day

      Time spent: ~1.5h
      Result: -5.14
      Merit points gained: 6.40

Played realy bad, was moody and tired. Once i thought i had the nuts and missed the fact that it was really likely that opponent had a flush, ofc he did :) A realy small amount of good hands too, had AA and AKs but all i got with them was the blinds. But thats how it goes with poker.

Don't have a hand today, maybe i'll sift through my hands tomorrow.
