      It's fine, tho you don't always have to c-bet those ~JT9 boards that hit just about every hand people like to limp/call with. That said in extreme cases like players with 50+ vpip, they'll always have enough hands that missed to make a c-bet profitable on any board so it's fine to c-bet/fold there if you don't want to check/call.

      As played nothing you can do on the turn, you might be ahead sometimes but he certainly could have a J, and even if you're ahead nothing tells us he won't also nearly pot the river, which we really won't be able to call on most cards. It's just to just get out of the way until you know more, like how often you actually seem him call flop c-bets and bet the turn when checked to.
