      Well I'd probably have put him on a lower pocket pair by default and bet the river again 1/2 pot, so I guess I'd have lost more money than you did ^_^ If you don't think he calls the river against with stuff like 88, checking back is fine since busted draws won't call anything and the rest of his range are boats.
