the getting it in good myth

just finished a scoop event on pstars.
table full of i presume beginners as they seem clueless.
anyway i am chip leader at table and the 2nd stack has got there by calling an all in with a gutshot and hitting it.
he limps to my bb and i raise with A5 clubs,he calls.
flop 554 he bets and i call turn 6 he bets i raise he shoves i call.he has 96 spades and hits his 6 on the river.ive had that for years online and it got me thinking,in 3 years ive won 4 biggish mtts for around 6k but im definately a losing player overall.
when the money goes in im usually a favorite as i play tight so my question is if you get your money in good the majority of the time yet over a 3 year sample your still a losing player is there any point in carrying on?
      any advice gratefully accepted.
i used to be a member of stox poker and due to their excellent videos and courses im doing well live
but id love to be able to win online for the convenience.
so if there is anything apart from getting your money in good that i can do someone please tell me.
