I had a read of the villain that he was passive with good hands. Didn't really know what to think of him.. didn't think he'd bet so much with a J, so decided to call it to the end as turn and river cards didn't really bring anything special. Maybe I should've raised here on flop?

      Hi degnic!

No, you definitely played it right here because this is a typical way ahead/way behind situation. You are way ahead of any other pocket pair (except from JJ or 44) and way behind against any J. Check/call is the best line because by playing this way you are winning the maximum against worse hands and lose the minimum against better hands.

      Good luck at the tables!
