      well after he checks the turn i figure i want to protect my hand, then BAM i get re-raised. Was this the right thing to do or should i have checked?

      No reason to check there neither on the flop or on the turn. You have middle pair with middle kicker on a drawy board and you want to protect your hand.

      As played folding is the best thing to do.

      I would bet the flop and look to go to showdown cheaply if he calls.

      As played I would fold to his raise on the turn.

      Definitely bet flop!

      Our hand is the best here very often, but it's super vulnerable! Just bet it out to take down the pot ;-)

      I would bet smaller than $1 though. 70c - 80c should be more than enough.

      As played, you can safely fold turn.
