Lottery sucks the government takes about 50% of the pot making it totally -EV. My friend use to call it Stupidity Tax.

Most people who hang around here know that poker is a skill game. I think one of the deciding questions is: Do you have to protect the typical gambler?

I mean governments should protect people for bad guys who will harm you! But should they also protect people for themselves.

I don't know the situation in britain. But when i get a lot of money from a credit and go into a national casino and loose everything, even then they will not start to protect me from gambling.

It takes a lot of time until you get prohibited from the casino.

The interesting fact in my eyes is not really the national lottery but i think interesting are the Horse Races since they are really a MINUS MINUS EV game.

So i think all the talkings from the governments especially in europe to say that they just want to protect the people is nothing else then an excuse.

At least its all about money.
