      Poker is certainly

My intro, Im a college student who has just finished and is heading off to uni in september results pending. I am also a tennis coach and play football semi proffesionally but now I have come across a new love POKER :D

I first started playing when I was 16 a tennis tournaments during raining delays for bare pennies and the odd silvers and on the rare occasion notes but it was nothing really and I was always winning of course :] .

My next step at that age was to play online on a bugsys poker which was a tiny site at the time I just played freerolls and for play money, ocassionlly cashing in a $30 freerole with 6000 runners only to accumulate 0.80c and then lose on the cash tables a week later.

I gave up poker for a while thinking it was a mugs game, truth is I was the mug.

Then last year at 18 when I could finally deposit I had a go that didnt last long quickly lost my 10 quid on party poker, I had one more go build it up to 30 and cashed out so broke even.

Then I discovered POKERSTRATEGY this place is almost hevean

and was in disbelief at the free $50 and thought it was a scam but still managed to get my starting sum on pokerstars was so excited.

I started to grind the nl 0.02 with a little succes and then moved onto SnGs where I am more confortable I eventually moved up to $3 and tried satelites etc for the big tourneys big mistake my Bankroll managment went straight out the window!!!!!

So I deposited again and learnt the hard way my eyes were to greedy, but had some succes was up and down all the time for example managed to qualify for the sunday million only to donk away came in top 3000 but missed the money i sucked tbh and also cash for 3rd place in a 11$ 180 man naturally i shouldnt be playing them no sense of BRM and then lost it X(

So I have now a horrible imprint of the dangers of bankroll management and cant even bare the thought of going up a limit without the correct roll.

Anyway thats my expierence so far. Pretty dull I guess probably the usual.

So now I have the summer and probably longer to start my attempt at going pro and bringing in a nice earner at uni and to perfect my poker just getting better each day.

      Mid term goals:

      1. Build a bankroll to play smaller live cash games in the casino (Empire and Vic in London) for example £1/2 and £2/4

      2. Successfully win a satelite to a UKIPT and participate

      3. Become a regular online at nl 100/200

      4. Reach Diamond Status on PS

      Long term goals:

      1. Continuous improvement (havent heard that before)

      2. Become a supernova or SNE at some point and maby earn enough VPPs for the porshe just 3million of them!! :f_cool:

      3. To be a regular grinder on the midstakes to High nl 400++++++++++

      4. To play live poker around the world especially at the WSOP and also in many cash games basically move to VEGAS.

      5. BLACKMEMBER STATUS ON PS fook YEA

Well my start to this long exciting journey started yesturday with SSS and I felt I had a really good run, too lucky managed to break Aces when I had kings then win again with queens v.s kings everything was just going too well untill the end of the day I slipped a bit, trying to pick up to many pots. I have reviewed my hands and need to get round to posting some up on here.

Heres my graph: DAY 1 nl 25

If you have managed to read all this I hope you have enjoyed it a little bit, and are not completely bored out of your head. I wish you guys and ladies goodluck, any respones would be very much apreciated, negative or positive =)

Day 2: Well this was a little bit dodgy then good then a bit more dogdy. Coin flips were against me and Aces plus Kings were broken far too often, but managed to get even for the day starting at 2k hands and at $36 then despite the huge swings still finished even at nl 25. So not all bad.

      Looky:

      Day 2 nl 25

It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride but I managed to trebble the amount of hands played today so the VPPs were running in managed to clear 2 bonuses aswell just to top it off and even better got my 2nd royal flush EVER!! :f_cool:

Well tomorrow after going over some problem areas like what to do with AK after missing the flop, and definitly going over some more articles just to iron out any creases.

Im still feeling postive and looking forward to tomorrow I just cant wait.

      Good night, and goodluck

Well today went really well, weather was so hot reached about 23/27 degrees in the UK. I had a couple hours coaching today then managed to fit in some sessions despite the sunbathing ;)

^^^^^^^ thinking about qualifying for Pokestars Carribean Adventure lol

The first 2 were average just staying even and steadily playing better and looking for spots to take advantage.

Then last session I was running oh so sweet, didnt need to suckout all my hands held up when ahead, I felt my post flop play was good, I normally get a little too into it and try and bluff my opponent off his hand with a shove, but I resisted today so improved my patience and stayed tight but aggressive which really shows on the graph.

Looked over quite a few videos today which was very interesting and I feel definitly helped me with my session. :s_cool:

Well heres the graph for today managed to beat my target of hands today and was hunting those VPPs for my bonus and level, I definitly feel I could reach Platinium by the end of the month easy peasy :f_biggrin: .

      Today starts from 7261 hands

Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated now im off goodnight

I just had a small session, 500 hands or so, I always run so hot and pick up like 4 or 5 stacks early on within the first 150 hands which is odd but in 4 days it has happened everytime, then my AKs run into AAs twice and then float up and down.

So perhaps as soon as I have picked up some nice pots just stop and play again in an hour our 30mins or so. But I obviously like to keep playing but then I run in to trouble briefly loseing the coin flips etc.

Anyway Im going for lunch then I'll hit another session and shoot my way to the stars, almost cleared another bonus part just need 14 VPPs so that will be sweet after lunch.

I'll probably watch a couple of vids just to brush up and perfect my style then hopefully it will inspire me to push on up =)

Well yesturday was a bit of swings and roundabouts, I kept climbing the giant mountain then decided to jump off it!

I managed to recover, but it was so frustrating I think thats what made it a touch worse the negative mindset.

So inorder to recover I decided lets open up a few more tables I normally play 8 but I decided to double that and go to 15 ( then max I can tile on my monitors comfortably)

Now your probably thinking what a muppet he's on a downswing and he's opening up more tables. Well my thinking behind this was that I will have less time to make decisions and I will play alot tighter.

I feel this worked really well for me because during my downswing my post flop play wasn't working out for me and I think I was playing to many hands.

So today I have looked over some trouble hands, which are mainly in the blinds where I probably try to pick up one too many steals and get my hand caught in the cookie jar :D

      Well heres my graph:

Day 4 started at 10k hands

So today being Day 5 of my very ambitious mission I am aiming to play 2k hands or more, make sure that I stay positive throughout even if I lose the next 20 coin tosses in a row ;)

I will definitly being looking over where I went wrong on my post flop play and check out some articles

I attended gerves coaching session yesturday on nl 50, I loved its such a good way to learn the strategy and its totally free, I definitly recommend it to anyone, so I would just like to thank Gerve for all the work he puts in despite having a nasty cold =)

      Goodluck

Well today, was erm how should I put it, just a minor setback, basically I didnt tilt but had a huge downswing. X(

which was just like this ^^^^^^^

      What a nightmare!

      :s_cry:

Anyway moving on, I am remaining positive I havent hit a major setback at all just a learning curve so tomorrow I will go over where I went wrong and the mistakes I have made definitly post some hands in the forum and see if I check out any coaching sessions. :f_cool:

Tomorrow is another day looking forward to pushing forward.

      Graph:

I will have an early night so I can grind hard tomorrow ;)

Goodluck hope everyone is succeeding in their own poker journey, this is mine a whole 6 days

Well ive finally come to the end of my first week, It has been interesting, not too consistant, had a couple of downswings one being HUGE however I managed to pick myself up realise where I was going wrong and fix it especially squeezing with a very marginal hand and zilt outs and a few other post flop plays for example knowing when to stop c betting.

So plans for next week reach gold VPP status, clear all my bonuses just 1 part left and also maintain this pace each week being $100+ up so by the end of the month I should be looking at $500 or more with a touch of luck and the bankroll will be healthy also play 30k hands next week, After this month im looking at going to Nl 50 as long as my bankroll is around the 1k mark which should be reachable.

      Graph for the week:

Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated, hope your having success with your poker career. Goodnight :)

Im just wondering what qualification do you have I am a PTR qualified coach, I understand there are hundreds but I chose this one because Its international and reconised all over the world and was wondering perhaps if you were with the same company.

Oh and Alcatrazzalz this is a mixture of SSS and BSS, I probably need to tighten up and because I play a too many hands hence my leaks on the graph . I definitly need to go with one of the other. Which I will do this week. Probably SSS.

      Hi xJCzZ!

I got interested in your blog because I'm pretty much exactly where you stand when it comes to poker careers :) Although I'm still just preparing myself for some serious grinding. I'm mostly a tournament player but now I've decided to take some shots at NL25 seeing how some people manage to steadily build their BR and make small fortunes :D I have one question for you for now: do you use any tools?

Keep up the good work and good luck at the tables!

Thanks for the response its very much appreciated, well the tools I use are Holdem Manager which I find very useful but I hate using the hud because I tile on quite small tables, but I have notes on most of the players in Nl25 you just have to watch for the shove or fold players really.

I also use table ninja but I havent quite grasped it yet, it seems to lagg my screen when ever its on and I cant workout why, I htink its so helpful but the lagg just frustrates me and having use a different table theme to the normal black one is annoying.

I used to play just tourneys but this month and a bit from last month Ive just concentrated purely on the cash games simply for the VPPs, I used to play loads of SnGs too. However since I am aiming big I feel cash games are the way to go and Im loving them at the moment (*awaits downswing before smashing the pc) :)

Well just had a 1 hour session now, which was such a joke I havent continued simply because everything has gone against me, so an early night wont hurt and I'll hit the tables hard tomorrow.

For example in the first 5 mins, my Aces lost to a straight flush!(all money in preflop)

KKings lost to QQs JJs lost to 77s, so frustrating after 5 mins im like 4 stacks down, managed to win a couple back, then lose a few more for example KK vs A8o flop comes 3 rags turn 8 river 8 ;(

The my AK lost to AQ, the list goes on bet hey thats poker it happens, so hopefully if I do a little praying tonight the poker Gods will be back on my side =)

Goals for tomorrow play 5k hands or more
      Reach gold on Pokerstars
Clear 5 mini parts or my bonus (earn 170VPP for 10$)
      Go over some articles

      Goodnight

Well I have been really busy this week due to good weather and lots of clients wanting tennis lessons, anyway I have managed to find time to play and finally reached gold VIP status today only 13 days into the month so perhaps platinium is on the cards but that will take some serious effort, :P

I started this week with a deep downswing and not much has changed untill today were things managed to pick up and I got myself in the right spots. Still up and down though a couple leaks need to be plugged so im going over hands etc now after my session. My bonus have been coming thick and fast so my bankroll is good despite the lack of profits in my play so theres a small positive.

      Well heres the graph looky:

Not too bad but very inconsistent after the big downswing, this week starts from 28k hands

Nice blog i like the pictures ^^ I'm strongly considering moving to cash games myself, currently playing Hu sng's and tournaments with not much succes so far. Although i don't really got a big sample either.

Do you think it's hard to move from sng's/tournaments to cash games? Any advice that might help me? :D
