I've hit my two pairs and bet potsized due the potential flush and straight draws, so I was betting for value and protection.

Does it make sense or, considering the amount of players in, should I have maybe placed a smaller bet to call in more value?

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      Hi,

It's fine, you're 300bb deep with some of those guys, if anybody has anything you want to make the pot as big as possible as quickly as possible. They just all folded because nobody had anything.

By the way be careful with your "There is no downswing in poker - only poorly played hands." thing, that's just wrong and if you believe in it too hard you'll just start doubting your game even when there are no reasons to.

      Hope it helps.
