The player on the button raised to 3BB after a call from a player in early position. I read this raise as a blind steal, and so, holding pocket 8's I try a re-steal with all-in as stated in the SHC for the SSS

Was this the right +EV move?

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8, 8.
UTG2 calls $0.10, 4 folds, BU raises to $0.30, Hero raises to $1.99, 2 folds, BU calls $1.69.
