      this opponent happens to like to steal often. i decided to 3bet with pocket 8s.

      Hi,


      I usually just call with 88, people don't barrel the turn often enough for it not to be profitable to check/call bluff-catch a c-bet on most flops, which is easier to do with 88 than with stuff like 33 since there are less overcards.

      As played I just check/fold that board, it hits two many hands and it's pretty easy for people to get away with whatever they want to do in position. Throwing a c-bet out there won't fold out any better hands and we're beat/in bad shape against pretty much every hand with two middle-to-high cards.
