# Odds of it being + or - EV

Hello fellow pokerstrategist. I have a question for you guys and I am curious if the result is the same for you guys. After playing a large sum of hands I have noticed my profit is only half of my EV.

So here is the question, is it more likely for you to run above or under ev and why? I currently play on Pokerstars and have noticed when I run above ev it is only a very minor amount, however when I run below ev it is a very large diferrence.

So if anyone knows the maths regarding what is more probable to be running + or - EV speak up so we can hear your mind.

EV is the amount u r expected to make if u had infinite hands. It is therefore evenly likely to run above or below EV. It is also human nature to be concerned when one is running bad compared to when one is running good.

Now with this in mind, someone post a graph of them running +ev in the long run on pokerstars. Because I can show you only the opposite.

it's equally likely to run under or over ev

note that it's quite impossible to calculate your true ev, what you're talking about is allin-ev, which is very misleading.

It would probably be wiser and more useful to calculate how close to your actual EV you are rather than be concerned about your EV according to your graph!
