Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      Play hand

      $0/$2 No-Limit Hold'em (7 handed)

      Known players:

UTG2 posts deadblind, UTG2 checks, Hero raises to $9.00, MP2 calls $9.00, MP3 calls $9.00, CO calls $9.00, BU folds, BB calls $7.00, UTG2 folds.

      Flop: ($47) J, 4, T (5 players)
BB bets $2.00, Hero raises to $15.00, MP2 folds, MP3 calls $15.00, CO folds, BB calls $13.00.

      Turn: ($92) T (3 players)
BB bets $2.00, Hero raises to $29.00, MP3 folds, BB calls $27.00.

      River: ($150) 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $50.00, BB calls $50.00.

      Final Pot: $250.
      Results follow:

Hero shows two pairs, jacks and tens(J A).
      BB shows a straight, queen high(Q 9).

BB wins with a straight, queen high(Q 9).

He min-raises on the flop and turn, so I re-raise, I was pretty sure he had nothing, but he hits his straight on the river. Should I have bet higher?

Deffo! Just put out between 2/3 and 3/4 of the pot when you are value betting against draws. That way, villain never gets the right odds. Here he got perfect odds to draw to his straight. Btw, are you really playing NL200??

Ah, ok, I'll bet more next time. Thanks for the advice and no, I'm playing NL1/2.

Agreed, raise more on both flop and turn, as minbet/call often indicates a draw and you have no reason yet to believe you're beat.

River is closer since now no busted draw will call you and we didn't put him on many Jx hands to begin with tho it's still possible. If he had check/called twice we'd have happily valuebet that river big, against a minbet/call line it's not as clear-cut. I kinda like you smallish valuebet when in doubt but if you can somehow take out top pairs from his range (like you saw him check/call with top pairs before) I wouldn't mind checking it back.

By the way 100bb at 1/2 is 200$, so nl1/2 et nl200 are one and the same.

      Hope it helps.
