      Hey all,

This is my $50 to $100 challenge, yes I know it doesn’t sound like much but this is my first step. So I got my starting capital about 20 days ago, and started my first day on party poker 18 days ago.

These were my BR management rules.
Play $1 Sit n Go quit for the day if I lose 10 - Unfortunately Party Poker only have $1 Turbo Sit N Go which are crazy cause blinds go up every 3 mins.

In my first session I got up to $68 and I was thinking I could eat fish all the time. Then variance took its cruel toll and I started going down, lost $10 the next day.

It seams my 10 loses a day rule didn’t seem to work as be for I knew it I was Tilting off money like a broken cash machine, $42-$35-30-20-17 this is what i was going down to. I started playing more ring games then Sit N Goes because I am sick of the variance.

I also changed my BR rules

      1 Ring Game BI in NL2 1c/2c
      5 Sit n Goes

This improved my bank roll allot I improved back to $30 after allot of grinding, but after i went back down to $25 I changed my BR rules.

3 Ring Games BI in NL2 1c/2c - If I take a bad beat or I make a bad play and lose a BI I take a walk for about 30 min.

You will of noticed that I have ditched the Sit n Goes, I just cant stand the turbo’s it feels like you need to get paid off early with a good hand to stand a chance.

These rules have worked really well I am back up to $30 and very excited about my session tonight.

Just finished a great session from 7pm till 1am (now). started with just one table which was the most passive table i ever played on, like every time id raise id either just cold call and fold to my Cbet, and when they would raise I would 3 bet from the blinds and they would fold.

Eventually got up to $4, so I decided to take a break I decided when I got back on I would open up another table as well. Now usually multi tabling hasn’t gone well in the past, I usually lose 1 BI and go on tilt and use the other 1 but not tonight I felt really good tonight, and maybe this just proves it was my night.

Now I got really lucky hear and I got lucky with a really bad call that I made, and this proves what Phil Gordon says in the Little Red Book that the 4th raise means aces. The same thing happened yesterday when I had jacks and lost that time which is worrying that I didn’t learn from my mistake, but in this case I got very lucky.

This below is why you never limp in with Kings.

      Hey!

Good luck with your challenge, I hope you manage to complete it soon :) .

My experience with those $1s is actually quite good. They are fast but have nice starting stacks, and pretty soft too, so great for learning push or fold.

Yes the best thing about them as they are quick. I might start playing them again when I get up to $50/$60.

      Another good session

Found a shorthanded table which then turned into heads up I came up on top here. 4 players ended up coming to the table then everyone left so I ended leaving this table with $1 profit.

I then moved to another table and started on a slow grind here is 2 hand I played on this table.

It was pretty easy to 3 bet with a made hand and the flop was easy to place Cbet where they folded. Then 2nd hand when I folded I just didn’t want to play out of position with an easily dominated hand.

I started the session on $37 and I finished on $39 not bad couple of hours work.

Time for break, while I watch the main event.

Grinding micro can be very frustrating. Up and down in small increments; it can feel like you're going around in circles. You seem to have a good idea of when you are feeling/playing good. Keep paying attention to that. (I've also learned the importance of this from experience over the last few months.)

I prefer to stick to limit ring-games when short (less swing perhaps), but either way as long as you keep playing solid you should grind out a profit long term, and hopefully catch a break or two along the way to help you stabilize in the plus.

      Good luck.

Well after a horrible day yesterday where I lost 3 BI in the day I stopped playing until 12am while I waited I read the rest of silver articles on BSS and watched high stakes poker videos.

When it came to 12 I jumped back on and had instant success I got pocket aces on the button got re-raised so I pushed and he called with AK, this was the first of 3 times I got aces.

Eventually after 4 hrs and 43 mins of grinding i got up to $8 in play. Then it happened.... I got AJ in BB and everyone fold to the SB where he raisers to 8c I re-raise to 24c he cold calls and the flop brings an ace. He donk bets into me where I raise and then he shoves. I think for awhile then I call, he has a10 and sucks out on me by hitting a 10 on the turn. so back to $5 and I’m a little bit steaming, I wish I closed the table straight away and did not see my next card.

Next hand I’m in the SB and the Poker Gods has sent me Queens for the injustice of the last hand. There is a new player to the table who chooses to post his blind in UTG+2 first sign of a bad player. the UTG raisers to 4c properly trying to get the dead money .I re-raise from sb to 12 c 2 callers. The Flop come J29. The UTG Cbets the UTG+2 calls I re-raise and the UTG folds and UTG+2 shoves I call, The turn brings 37. UTG+2 show J2 for 2 pair and I go back to $3.

Now I do close straight away I went from $8 to $3 in to hands.

I way up later in the day and jump back on and join a table with no people so hopefully I can get heads up. 1 Player joins and my heads up is not going to well, Then I start getting up we get to 4 handed I have 105 in the bb I get to see a free flop, I flop 2 pair and end up getting it all in on the turn and wining the exact same thing happened in the next bb.

I’m sitting on $4 and I’m lucky enough to double up again, i decide to stay at the table for awhile then I decided to take a break and read some more articles.

So my BR is back from 28 to 35.55

$37, that’s what I’m on after 2 great sessions today. Would be more if they stopped giving me queens, I had them 5 x in my session and I only won twice.

Tomorrow my goal is to try get over the $40 hurdle.

      Do you get rakeback?

Rakeback helps a lot, especially is you play a lot. I see it as a "savings plan" because the money is siphoned away immediately and comes back to you later.
You do not have the opportunity to use it until it comes in a week or so. Hey, free money.

The only account I have rakeback for is my FTP account, but I got the $50 starting capital on on Party Poker which dosent offer Rakeback the same way.

Ok so my start to NL4 has been pretty up an down my main problem is that I have been overplaying some hands.

2 days ago I went back to playing some $1 Turbo SNGs I bubbled in the first one then i won 4 in a row, I wish I kept playing because the next day I had 3 7ths.

I started playing NL4 and I doubled my BI in like 2 mins then. However in my 2nd session thing didn’t go as easily, I was back up to $6 then I completely overplayed pocket 7s and got crushed by Aces so I gave up for the day.

Today I started off by playing some SNGs I came 3rd in the first 1 I played then did not place in the following 3. So back to NL4 I joined a table just 1 person and again made some mistakes and lost 2 BIs rather quickly, but then I managed to grind it all back.

So now I come to my session that just finished abruptly, I kept swinging between $4 and $6, and just couldn’t get the magic double up. Then I decide to overplay pocket 10s and lost all my money to jacks.

So 3 BIs lost for the day.

      BR 122.46

I think I'm gonna re read some of the articals.

I don’t understand I play for 6 hrs in this time I nearly lose a BI the I win $11, then it gets whittled down to 49 then $8.90 so I say ok ill get back over 9 then ill get off and go to bed cause its like 1am, easer said then done I keep getting over 9 and then getting AQ or pocket 5s and not wining the hand then going down to 8.50. So I finally after 5 hrs of grinding between $8 and $9 I get over $9 then this hand.
