So obv I'm totally unknown here, maybe it will be nice to someone see a new face blogging, oh well we will see. So I wanted to start this blog to track my progress - my goal is to reach NL100 until the start of summer 2011, and maybe increase my English skills. I will spam some graphs, goals and interesting hands here, i hope i will get few readers, that would regularly come in here and check my progress and try to help me with some hands.

About me, there is nothing much you should know. Well I'm from Latvia, I live in small and gay city called Jelgava lol. My main hobby's are rowing and poker.

Poker related - I started playing poker like 1.5 years ago i was playing mainly SH BSS up to NL25, than i cashed out all the money and did not play at all in that time. Now in the middle of summer I was kinda bored so I decided to give another shot and grind my way up, I deposited 24$ started playing some DON's up to like 70$ than switched to 1.75$ turbo SNG's 18 and 9 man had a good run started playing some 3.4's already. It started great had some sick sessions when i won like 14BI 8 tabling the STT SNG's.

Than a small downswing came and i decided to try some cash games, as i had around 250$ at that moment in my BR I started playing NL10, I got the old feeling of the game and i liked it way more than grinding SNG's like a robot.

I think 1st 3k are FR, rest is SH. I will be playing only SH now. I know its a no sample but just wanted to add smthg that the 1st post would not look so boring. :D

Atm my roll is 257$, I want to play at least 20k hands/month now and i would like to get 10bb/100 hands win rate on NL10. I'll start taking shots on NL25 when i will have 20BI, that's 500$. I hope I will get close to this until the end of September.

      Goals for September:
[ ]Play at least 20k hands
[ ]Get 10bb/100 hands win rate
[ ]Read "Harrington on online cash games"
      [ ]Improve some poker skillz

      Long term goals:
      [ ]Reach NL100 until May 31st
      [ ]Reach BR off 10k
[ ]Play in a EPT event
      [ ]Ship a donkment

OK I think its all i wanted to say here :f_biggrin:
I'll prop make a update on 1st of September when I'll actually start my challenge.

BTW it would be nice if some random ppl would just say GL, that I would not feel so lonely.

      Peace.

GL sir, reaching nl100 by summer '11 is certainly an achievable goal.

how is poker viewed in Latvia? are poker winnings tax-free? how does the general public view poker? as i've heard baltic countries are generally pretty poker friendly.

Yeah it's kinda friendly :) and there are no taxes. Its a great place to go pro cuz I would need to earn like only 300$/month to live an OK life.

I'm still studying, well I'm planing to play at least 1k hands/day it should take like ~ 2.5 hours 4 tabling and around 1 hour to check forums, watching videos etc, so i will try to put in 3.5- 4 hours every working day. I think I will not play that much on weekends but we will see.

hmm wow. It's gonna get tough, that's for sure. I study myself aswell and even though I want to it's just not always possible to get in 1k hands per day, at least not in the long run.

I hope for you that it will work out fine though, and keep us updated so we can give you advice or get advice from possible solutions etc. =)

Good luck, I shall follow with interest!

What site do you play on? If it's FT they rush poker might be something to consider in the future, you can get in a lot of volume.

Well I play on stars, but I really i don't consider playing rush cuz I want to improve as a player get some sick exploiting skills etc and I think it's close to impossible playing rush. But tnx for the advice. ;)
