Titan Poker Disconnections?

I was just wondering if Titan Poker does this to anyone else. My client likes to disconnect incredibly often and it's becoming increasingly annoying. It has happened twice when I've been dealt great hands (AK) not to mention the hassle of logging back on. I'm going to check my internet connection and see if that could be the problem (though I'm pretty sure it's not since it's constantly connected) and I wanted to see if anybody else had a similar problem.

It happens to me sometimes, although it usually reconnects itself and sends me back to my tables.

Mucks up my display though, I like my tables in nice neat rows! :)

I have experienced the same thing with Titan. I emailed their support regarding the issue, and got the standard line about operating system and cpu and memory minimum requirements etc. No interest in looking into the issue from their side. They say that they don't have any outages at those times, so it can't be them.

It hasn't happened much of late, and it only ever happened at its worst about 2, or maybe 3 times per week. Which is still annoying.

I have disconnect problems on Titan, too. It usually lasts for only a few seconds up to 25 seconds, but it happens very very often, like in every 5 minutes. The table is still there, it is just freezed. Very annoying because sometimes i miss my turn, and i never know what is happening on the table at that time.
Does anybody has similar problems? I am pretty sure it's not my internet connection because i used different and stable connections and Titan had the same problem always. I've already reinstalled the software, but it's still not good.
I'm going to write to the support but i guess i'm gonna get the same answer as aciddrop.

      Hi guys!

Contacting the support should help to solve the problem. Let them know, that there are several people having the same problem. If you all get the same answer please let me know.

      Good luck at the tables!

I got this answer to my second letter (where i wrote down that i have the necessary system requrements, etc.):

      Dear Gabor,

Thank you for contacting Titan Poker.

This is L.A. from the Support Team.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience this matter has caused you.

Gabor, our relevant department have checked your connection for the past week and there has indeed been a few disconnections every day (about 1-3 each day). These are mostly caused by channel server problems on our side or load problems with Titan servers. The connection issues were definitely not caused by problems with your connection. The channel server problems are investigated by our specialists and hopefully will be rectified soon.

*The server problems caused by load are waiting behind your side to upgrade the hardware and latest news was that actions have been taken also on this.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.

I really don't understand what the heck that * sentence mean :)
Maybe it's just my english, but it seems a bit confused to me.
Could somebody explain it to me?

      Thanks,
      kesgab

      hiya guys,
first i want to know if we are talking about the same problem.
my tables seem to freeze and i cannot do anything for 8 'till 12 seconds and then that popup screen comes and says if i still want to play. i click yes and then i can play 'till it happens again. after 5 minutes it freezes again. sometimes all of my tables.
i tried everything, shutdown msn, skype, PT, AH, winamp. i reinstalled titan twice, cleaned all of my coockies, checked my internet connection, virusscanes..... the works.

i contacted support a couple of times and they say that there is nothing wrong on their side of the connection. and that i should upgrade my computer. my machine could not get any faster.
one guy asked me how many tables i played, and maybe he has a point. im playing 10/12 tables so that COULD be the problem.

now i would like to know from u , how many tables are u playing when this problem occurs? if we all are playing 10+ tables, then maybe that is the problem.

      have fun all...

very strange you should say that.

i had issues from an internet cafe last night... HOWEVER i also had severe issues connecting to any other site out of the country (except this one funnily enough).

i talked to their support and they refunded the tournament buy-in for the tournament i got blinded out of at that time...

never had issues other than that (ie when i'm playing from home).

I never played more than eight tables at once on Titan. It happens only rarely to me now, but still occasionally.

I have this problem on titan as well as on pacific poker, although much worse with pacific poker.

It happens alot especially when my roomate is downloading alot or there is heavy traffic with my ISP like on the weekends. I think it is because the poker program requires a specific amount of bandwidth in order to insure a stable secure connection and will disconnect when available bandwidth drops below a certain limit.

Try downloading pokerstars and play the play money since they give you a percentage as to how connected you are, maybe that will give you some insight into the amount of bandwidth available to you.

I am also in canada where the ISPs cap bandwidth for no other reason than to just piss off there customers and save a couple of dollars.

I experience the same problem but not very often, mainly weekends when the no of players increase. I only play 4 tables , so I don´t think the no of tables influences the issue. Still , when I reconnect , the software takes me back to my tables. It is still annoying though.

guys, there is (probably) nothing wrong with your own computers and internet connections. I have a very good internet connection and it practically never fails (on my side). However, it loses the connection with Titan Poker regularly.

I have a degree of computer science (5 years of IT education) and my experience tells me the problem is at the side of Titan Poker.

Kesgab: the sentence with the * means that the computers from Titan Poker who host the software are not powerful enough sometimes, when there are a lot of people playing at the same time. The people from Titan Poker know this too, and they are going to fix this problem.

      hi guys

ive just started playing at titan and am having the same problems. I play 6 tables, every 5 minutes or so the tables freeze and then I'm told that Ive timed out.

Very very annoying and Ive lost a few big hands because of it.

Nothing wrong with my connection this end, Titan have told me no problems there end. Something defo isnt right and I hope it gets sorted soon X(

I guess this might be an answer to the question:

      http://www.richardmarcusbooks.com/2008/02/cheating-poker-hack-attacks.htm

Denial of service attacks against Titan.
