grummelers bank roll building NL

      hello ladies and gentleman
last couple of month went just horrible for me in mtts, cashgame and private life.
i needed to cash out allmost all of my bankroll because of private cash flow and now im back to the roots :D

starting with today 20.10.2010 i feel free to make a big experiment to find out which way poker will go for me ;)

so my little experiment starts with a bankroll of 150$ on full tilt poker. thats not all of my bankroll but that is what i try to start from now to build a good solid pokerbankroll up again.

      here is my plan:

i will start with NL5 sh bss with 30 buy in bankroll.
i start playing 6 tables at the same time
i will play at least 1000 hands a day, which is not all that much but i start with this and then i will see how much i can play :P

on NL 5 i think i can make like 8bb/100 which means i make 80bb per day or 4$
if my plan works i will win 150$ within 35 days and be able to jump up to NL10

so thats my plan for the first 35 days to go up to NL 10

      on NL 10 i think 8bb/100 is still possible for me so 80bb per day = 8$ / d
      which means i will need 450$ / 8 = 56days to get up to 750$ and jump to nL25

and so on and so on.

so i will try to get to nl 10 within 35 days and to NL 25 in 91 days.

i will keep track of all days result right here, and i will post the most interesting hands within this thread as well.

can i make it up to nl 25 in 90 days ? i dont know but i think this should be possible.

place your bets and have fun watchin the pro bust in the micro stakes :P

so here are the results for todays session 20.10.2010
i made a couple of bad mistakes because im not used to those micro stakes play.
so i put to much in it and didnt really rely on value betting only.
anyways here are the results for today:

      102 minutes played
      1004 hands
      won: 6,27$
      bb/100: 12,49
      rake: 6,07$

still within my overall plan, but i think i could have done much better.
following hands where the most interesting

I'll be following this one :)

From my experience at NL5, in the first hand I wouldn't be going broke preflop with that, in my experience on NL5 unless they are a massive fish no-one is usually going broke preflop with anything less than QQ, KK or AA. Maybe JJ as well but the best you can hope for is a coinflip, on a lot of occasions you're crushed. I stopped going broke with AK at the micros a while ago because it was showing to be a massive loser for me.

2nd hand i'm really not sure on, i'd be going broke on that board as well, his aggression sort of confuses me on the turn, the only thing I can think of that would take that line from an aggro opponent is TT, but i'd never be folding that.

3rd hand i'd say the majority of the time you're beat, NL5 players like coldcalling with any Ace when they think you're stealing their blinds. In that hand i'd be calling the flop, and if he barrels again on the turn i'm folding.

      hi grummeler,

as a regular viewer of your MTT and BSS coachings, I wish you best of luck! I'll definitely have a look at this thread from time to time.

      to the hands:
#1: I think it should be ok even on NL5. I mean it's 4handed. Of course, he commits himself and you could still find a fold against a {JJ+, AK} range but even if you only add AQs to the range, it's a profitable broke there, and people on NL5 will sometimes do crazy stuff. So this will be around neutral EV, definitely no big mistake, if at all.

#2: Hm. Imo, on the micros folding a one pair hand to the obv "call flop - mr turn"-nutline once too often doesn't hurt your EV that bad. So without knowing that he's capable of bluffing with this line, folding (even if it sucks) will save a lot of money on average.

#3: Yeah. Fold turn. Your draw isn't worth much since it's obv when it hits and fish donkbet a lot of Ax type hands "for protection" on these drawy boards so you could even consider folding the flop without reads that he donkbets light. He'll show off with A7, AT or even AQ a lot on the river here.

Ouch! You forgot to mention running KK into an opponents AA. Poker is such a sick game sometimes. :(

The only good thing is you know it can't last ... way too many fish :f_p: at 5NL. I'm currently at that level hoping to get to 25NL too.

I'll definitely be following this blog. Good luck at the tables
