      Yeah, blogging. ;D

Need some motivation for playing and I have been loosing the main part of my roll in the last 14 days, trying different games and playing styles.

I now think I have decided fully, and I'm gonna play Mtt's again. Was really thinking about doing sngs instead. But mtt is the choice.

I'm not gonna tell about myself cause no one reads it. But gonna do some goal setting.

I'm gonna play at stars, maybe switch to fulltilt later. Playing 180 man turbos with mixing in almost any tourney below 5$.
Bankroll is at ~ 200$ and I wish to make it turn into 1500$ before doing the 12$ 180 man. I might switch to fulltilt when my first deposit bonus is done and play the 90 man KO's there - I think that might be good when reaching 500ish $ so that I can play the 6.5 90 man KO's.
But first I'm gonna make some money at stars. :)

About what I'm gonna use this blog for. Keeping record, finding someone to review with, writing down some strategy stuff and hopefully get some discussion going.

That's it for now, I will be updating every 50 games at least.

      Take care. :D

Yeah, so had some real life stuff in the weekend, visiting family and spending time with friends, so didn't play until yesterday, where I put in 30ish 180 mans.
So my first 50 games is done, and my bankroll stands at 300ish, so that's good. I felt like I was playing good, and laughed really hard of some of the setups, especially setups when 10-18 players left I ran really cold, but had a bigish stack in most of them, so it's okay.
I'm gonna finish the next 50 games today I think and hopefully have some success. :)

If there are any micro stakes mtt players out there, it could be cool to make reviews with each other, cause it can be kind of boring to do it by yourself. So if you wanna do something like that just leave a message in the blog. :D

That's it for now, updating tomorrow I think.

      Hey Murn90,

it's great to see another MTT SnG player from stars bloging :) Wish u lots of luck and I'll follow ur progress here :)
Just an early tip though, BRM should be more conservative for these games. In my blog I advised 400BI for a comfortable and stress free ride through the games, however since I understand it's difficult to put in huge volume and be patient at the same time, I'd still suggest that u not move to the 12$ games before u reach 2000$. That way u won't have to jump between limits too much :)

But the choice is urs of course. I'll cya around :)

      Hey Atoks.
Thanks for the tip. I think you might be right about brm. But there is alot of time until I reach the 12's anyway. :)
I have read most of your blog and it's kind of scary, with the swings. And I'm only gonna be playing the 180 man, so guess variance will be even worse than your 45 man swings.
But as long as I'm playing micro stakes I'm gonna use 100 BI for 180 man, and 200BI for mtts cause the fields on stars are huge.

A quick question, how do you analyse your sessions, just sngwiz or?

Yeah just SnG Wizard. However it is important to understand the spots that u are facing/analyzing and often things are not as clear cut as the ICM values suggest for either $EV or cEV. Ranges are one reason, stacks blinds and antes another, while it's also very important what stage the tournament is in. U should however mostly disregard the ranges of other players at the micros, unless u play with a certain person very often :)

Yeah so played a lot today ~ 50ish games. About break even.
But tried something new today - marking hands when playing and review them after the session, marked everything about 30 hands - but posted only 12 hands in the hand evaluation forum, so feel free to comment on them.
But overall I feel good about my play today and already looking forward to playing tomorrow. :D

      Take care.

Have decided to post my hands from yesterday also in the blog, so that I might can get some comments. ;D Here goes.

Hand 1. No reads on the guy, I'm thinking shoving a flush draw with a K? or a weak A, honestly I just find the shove odd.
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 50/100 Blinds (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop SB (t1630) BB (t1335) UTG (t3345) UTG+1 (t1750) MP1 (t3085) MP2 (t3755) Hero (CO) (t4440) Button (t1455) Hero's M: 29.60 Preflop: Hero is CO with Qc, Qd 3 folds, MP2 calls t100, Hero bets t425, 3 folds, MP2 calls t325 Flop: (t1000) Js, Ac, 10c (2 players) MP2 bets t3330 (All-In), Hero??

Hand 2. Can I shove here to pick up the dead money?
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 100/200 Blinds (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop Hero (Button) (t1735) SB (t3355) BB (t2450) UTG (t6030) UTG+1 (t75) MP1 (t2435) MP2 (t9162) CO (t3145) Hero's M: 5.78 Preflop: Hero is Button with 5c, 7c 1 fold, UTG+1 calls t75 (All-In), 2 folds, CO calls t200, Hero goes all in??

Hand 3. What is my shoving range here? I'm thinking something like 22+, Axs+, A7o+, KTs+, KJo+, QTs+, QJo and some suited connectors?
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 75/150 Blinds (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop BB (t3985) UTG (t8205) UTG+1 (t1575) MP1 (t1825) Hero (MP2) (t1645) CO (t2770) Button (t4860) SB (t1465) Hero's M: 7.31 Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Jc, Qd 3 folds, Hero??

Hand 4. What is my range for shoving here? something like 77+, AJs+, AQo?
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 125/250 Blinds 25 Ante (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop Hero (UTG) (t3455) UTG+1 (t5210) MP1 (t6251) MP2 (t1190) MP3 (t3224) CO (t1730) Button (t4170) SB (t1465) BB (t2310) Hero's M: 5.76 Preflop: Hero is UTG with 8c, 8d Hero?

Hand 5. Can I open this with my stack size? And then fold to a reraise, calling the shorty? Or is it better just to fold pre?
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 150/300 Blinds 25 Ante (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop Hero (UTG) (t6885) UTG+1 (t4560) MP1 (t5061) MP2 (t1425) MP3 (t5030) CO (t3940) Button (t3565) SB (t1500) BB (t1735) Hero's M: 10.20 Preflop: Hero is UTG with Jc, As

Hand 6. Is this a shove? I have no fold equity and raising instead of shoving in his spot looks like fish with strong hand? It's kinda hard to figure out what people are doing at the micros. I think I'm calling if he shoves so It's basically the same or?
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 200/400 Blinds 50 Ante (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop Hero (BB) (t6145) UTG (t4535) UTG+1 (t6426) MP1 (t1400) MP2 (t5005) MP3 (t3915) CO (t3540) Button (t1325) SB (t1410) Hero's M: 5.85 Preflop: Hero is BB with As, Js 4 folds, MP3 calls t400, CO bets t1200, 2 folds, Hero?

Hand 7. I have had trouble with being in ep with a short stack M of 2-4 and not knowing when to shove with a little fold equity and when to let the blinds hit me. some general advice needed, for example what is my shoving range with an M of 2.5 UTG, and how different is it with M of 4?
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 200/400 Blinds 50 Ante (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop UTG+1 (t4655) MP1 (t2140) MP2 (t2605) CO (t3568) Button (t3200) SB (t12865) BB (t3660) Hero (UTG) (t2799) Hero's M: 2.80 Preflop: Hero is UTG with Jd, Qs, Hero???

Hand 8. Almost similar to last hand - one person less.
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 300/600 Blinds 50 Ante (7 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop SB (t6310) BB (t6420) Hero (UTG) (t3505) MP1 (t5475) MP2 (t12000) CO (t7960) Button (t8913) Hero's M: 2.80 Preflop: Hero is UTG with Jc, 9s Hero??

Hand 9. What do I call with here? And what is his range? Problem is I have a player behind me too.
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 15/30 Blinds (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop Button (t1515) SB (t1565) BB (t3150) UTG (t1080) UTG+1 (t130) Hero (MP1) (t1410) MP2 (t1035) MP3 (t2260) CO (t1355) Hero's M: 31.33 Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Qc, Ac UTG calls t30, 1 fold, Hero bets t120, 2 folds, CO calls t120, Button raises to t1515 (All-In), 3 folds, Hero??

Hand 10. Final table, Nash chart says push it just feels really loose.
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 1500/3000 Blinds 300 Ante (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop CO (t32245) Button (t54615) Hero (SB) (t21125) BB (t16170) UTG (t36467) UTG+1 (t64268) MP1 (t28690) MP2 (t16420) Hero's M: 3.06 Preflop: Hero is SB with Jd, 4s 6 folds, Hero??

Hand 11. Final table. What is my shoving range here when considering price structure is top heavy - shoving more, or waiting the other 2 guys out? I might look like a fool for not seeing this as an easy shove.
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 2000/4000 Blinds 400 Ante (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop BB (t32445) UTG (t60115) Hero (MP) (t35248) CO (t59934) Button (t50568) SB (t31690) Hero's M: 4.20 Preflop: Hero is MP with As, 8d 1 fold, Hero??

Hand 12. Reg is shoving. Am I to short to fold, I mean his range is tight 77+, AJo+ AJs+ and I need 40% equity to be break even and that if there's no one overcalling. I'm doing bad against his range, but if it's a little wider with ATs and KQs I'm doing better. But it troubles me, cause I'm really short. I think that calling against odds for a chance to come back into the tourney might be right?
      PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.2 Tournament, 200/400 Blinds 50 Ante (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop UTG+1 (t4448) MP1 (t3167) Hero (MP2) (t2050) CO (t6557) Button (t3240) SB (t2068) BB (t2680) UTG (t3759) Hero's M: 2.05 Preflop: Hero is MP2 with As, Js 1 fold, UTG+1 bets t4398 (All-In), 1 fold, Hero?

So feel free to leave a comment on the hands. I might post some more trouble hands tomorrow if i run into some spots where I don't know what to do.

      Take care. :f_cool:

Updating blog with some goals for November.
As I'm only working part time I should create some bigger goals than usual.
      Here goes:

:spade: NO watching series all day when you could be playing poker! (did that today. )

:spade: Play enough tourneys to keep silverstar (140$ rake)

:spade: Maybe go for 290$ rake to keep Gold on ps.com

:spade: Keep posting hands in blog and evaluation forum.

That's it for now, will update again tomorrow with some more goals about which tourneys I'm gonna play. :D

      Take care.

So I was supposed to set some more goals for November, but i figure that my goals about how many tourneys I'm gonna play is enough.

About what tourneys I'm gonna play to rake a minimum of 140$, I thought about what Atoks said about 400BI rule, and it made me think about all the variance in mtt's, therefore I have decided that I will only play 180 man in November. The reason is that while I think the variance is lower in micros, I think that as long as I'm only 6-8 tabling it doesn't make sense to use hours on 10-20 tourneys when I could have been playing 35-60 180 mans. It's all about beating the variance for now and build a bankroll to play mtt's. So I'm gonna change thread title.

So I'm gonna play the 2.2$ 180 man for know, and with a minimum payment of rake set to 140$ as a goal, that means 700 tourneys. It should be doable. Bankroll stands at $450ish after 150ish games that's running at approx 70% ROI. So it's a good start, hope it continues into November.

      Gonna post some hands tomorrow.
      Take care.

Updating - Didn't post hands cause they weren't that tricky.
So November progress, have played approx 120 - 180 mans so that's good so far. Moneywize nothing impressive I'm at $600'ish, but as long as I'm improving my game November should go fine.

If anyone is reading, do YOU wanna do a sweat?
