      Hi there,

let me introduce my self a bit.
My real name is Peter and this year i celebrated my 30 birthday, after that i decided that i need some kind of change in my life (everybody knows that feeling, am i right? :D ), it tooks me couple month to figure out what i want to do as a change and then it just falls on me from sky when my project in work ended prematuraly and there was no other interesting project that i wanted to work on, so i quit and take a couple months break from work  . And after that i accept
work offer in Prague and decided that i will move there from Bratislava.
And now i can say it was a great decision because i like it here very much :D

Now something about my poker "career" :D

after couple months of trying to beat NL2 without any strategy and understanding of the game it self I finally decided to give it a try and start to study a lot from this nice site. And as I progress with reading and trying BSS strategy on NL2 I found out, as probably many of you, that it is working :D After that i managed to raise my BR from 50$ to the actual amount of 160$ (thanks to
      FullTilt Take2 action ;) )

So for now i decided to move on from NL2 (finally :D ) and start playing on NL5FR on Fulltilt with some help from Holdem Manager and of course strategy section of this site and hopefully you guys ;) My plan is pretty straightforward, just to climb limits with decent BR management (30 BI required for another lvl) and as i learned before, studying is a must, so i will make sure that i’ll remind me that from while to while.
I am not going to rush my poker career in any ways, i like my current time management (i am playing max 4 tables at the same time and only one session/day in a normal working day) and i want to play always my A+ game ...

So here are some of my rules I want to stick on:

      1.
Reading all possible articles from PS at least 3 times (for start BSS ofc)
basic approach is 1 article before session (that is just because i am traveling a lot with tram, every day from work almost one hour)

      2.
Watch all possible videos according to my status i used to watch all kind of series before sleeping but now i really cannot find anything more interesting then poker videos from PS (amazing isn't it? :D )

      3.
      reviewing hands via Holdem Manager

      4.
posting hands in forum and evaluate hands from other players this is something that i can probably do in work :D

If you think that something is missing here, don't let it for your self please :D and write it here...

Thank you for your time and once more: don't hesitate to write any of your opinions.

See you at the tables :D

      Hi there,

a new month arrived and i am finally ready to start playing, so here are my goals for this month:

:spade: Read at least half of the silver articles

 Play at least 15 000 hands this month

:diamond: watch all white and bronze videos about BSS and general strategy

:club: evaluate hands from my session and post the weird ones

and finally put graph here after each 5k hands ...

how should i play hands like this when villian limps high pairs and then start to minraise them? whole game i was putting him on everything else then kings ... :( about stats: i had only 3 hands on him 100/33/-

      Flop: ($0.70) 10, 8, 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.40, Button raises to $0.93 (All-In), Hero calls $0.53

      Turn: ($2.56) 6 (2 players, 1 all-in)

      River: ($2.56) Q (2 players, 1 all-in)

      Total pot: $2.56 | Rake: $0.17

Button had A, 6 (three of a kind, sixes).
Hero had A, K (one pair, sixes).
      Outcome: Button won $2.39

after i reviewed this hand i think my cbet was very bad because of villian stacksize, he was allready commited and i bluffed only with overcards .... am i right? maybe check was the right decision there?

Thank you for your time and your answers guys, have a great time at the tables.

      Hi everyone,
another session is finished, another 1000 hands played. :D

I decided to post on my blog only 2 hands per session:
hand with largest profit and hand wit largest loss...

      So here there are:

      1. Hand with largest profit:
      Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (7 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

      MP1 ($5)
      MP2 ($1.75)
      Hero (CO) ($5)
      Button ($4.93)
      SB ($1.69)
      BB ($5)
      UTG ($5.30)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q, A
UTG calls $0.05, 2 folds, Hero bets $0.25, 3 folds, UTG calls $0.20

      Flop: ($0.57) 10, 5, 8 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $0.35, UTG calls $0.35

      Turn: ($1.27) J (2 players)
      UTG checks, Hero checks

      River: ($1.27) Q (2 players)
UTG bets $1.20, Hero calls $1.20

      Total pot: $3.67 | Rake: $0.24

      Results:
UTG had K, J (one pair, Jacks).
Hero had Q, A (one pair, Queens).
      Outcome: Hero won $3.43

This one was usual CBet after flop and then c/c on the river when Q hit the desk - nothing fancy = good profit :D

      2. Hand with largest loss:
      Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (9 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

      Button ($5.32)
      SB ($2.88)
      BB ($1.52)
      UTG ($5.93)
      Hero (UTG+1) ($5.57)
      MP1 ($7.17)
      MP2 ($6.69)
      MP3 ($4.88)
      CO ($5)

      Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q, A
      1 fold, Hero bets $0.20, 1 fold, MP2 calls $0.20, 2 folds, Button calls $0.20, 2 folds

      Flop: ($0.67) 9, 8, 4 (3 players)
Hero bets $0.40, 1 fold, Button calls $0.40

      Turn: ($1.47) 3 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.75, Button calls $0.75

      River: ($2.97) 7 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $0.80, Hero folds

      Total pot: $2.97 | Rake: $0.19

      Results:
      Button didn't show
      Outcome: Button won $2.78

Almost same situation as previous one but i decided to second barrel (stupid stupid stupid Pokrovec, why the hell are you doing this?? :D ) and that cost me quite a lot .... :(

All the weird hands i will post in the evaluation forum.
That's it for now, i need to study articles and post my hands so see you later guys, wish you luck and a lot of fun.
And fo the end here is my song of this day ;) :

My plan is to stick to reading articles and start to using stats (i need to figure out which stats to use for start, maybe HANDS/VPIP/PFR/AF will be enough for beginning). One think that I am not into right now is watching videos = that must be changed for sure ...

have a great day guys and thx for reading ;)

I'd make it $0,8 on flop and pot turn. The board is very drawy and you should bet/raise for protection and value as well.

From my experience, limp-minraise is always either KK or AA.

      Heya again guys !

      @Aflicor1
Thanks for evaluation m8, that last hand with minraise = you hit the nail i need to watch out for these players that minraises preflop....

Next couple of days i will not be able to play, I am traveling back to Slovakia for weekend (volleyball tourney awaits :D ) and today I am going to be drunk with friends of mine ... :D ()

In the meantime I will think about little challenge for us players on microlimits, when I figure out something real I'll write to all of you guys...
For now i know that these people want to join this chellenge:
      Pokrovec
      ExternalUseOnly
      lee200
      freespirit47

      and maybe Aflicor1?

I think it is a good idea to help each other and little competition is always fun :D

See you around and of course GL & HF at the tables!

Yea, i hate these limp-minraise/proper raise/shove (yup, i've even seen a guy limp shoving for like 250+ bb). Raise your hands yourself, geez.:f_biggrin:

Whats the challenge about? Well im probably in anyway, i love these kinda things.:D

      @Alficor1
ok mate greate to have you here, more people = more fun :D

      @freespirit47
thanx mate I am glad that someone is really reading this stuff :D
rules will be out soon, be ready for start :D

Okey and now for the challenge:

Please guys write me here which limits are you playing and approximately hom much hands you play in a month. So we can decide how big sample of hands we will use.

      Challenging rule :
biggest bb/100 hands in the same limit (e.g. NL5 for me) in 50k hands...(or maybe less,we will agree on that), for fun and couriosity it would be nice if everybody will past theirs stats and graps for example at the end of every week that we can see who is winning at the time ;) I know that we are playing different limits and someone can argue that it is not even to compare results between limits so i decided that we should create groups with the same limit.

Guys if you have some thoughts about this dont be shine and write it down here and we can discuss it ;)

Thanks for your attention, now i need to study some more articles :D so good luck and have fun at tables

So for now i am playing NL5FR , 5000hands already played, my BR is at 167$ and here is my graph:

and here are my stats sofar:

as you can see I am still not very succesfull at this limit but I am studying almost every day so result must be somewhere around a corner :D

I was finally able to find one big mistake that I am doing frquently: I just can't fold TPTK, I know it is stupid but so hard for me to understand that Iam beaten most of the time when someone reraise me ...

For my stats: i know that PFR should be almost the same as VPIP but Iam still only limping small pairs and dont want to rush this remake of my strategy...

Can you guys help me with the rest of the stats? Is there something very wrong?

Final words: I am happy that I am in positive numbers and I am ready for more studying :D

Thank you for your time and good luck and have fun !

I had a bit of trouble when I went up to 5NL FR too. There seem to be more competent players at this level compared to 2NL.

I was finally able to find one big mistake that I am doing frquently: I just can't fold TPTK, I know it is stupid but so hard for me to understand that Iam beaten most of the time when someone reraise me ...
I think I read/saw somewhere that this is probably the most common leak in players at this level. Your 'Hand with the largest loss' highlights this very well. By the river you have to ask yourself what hands could he have that would call you pre-flop, flop and turn? There aren't many you will be beating. On the river I would probably check-fold or check call a small bet by him. If you are going to bet again bet a smaller amount, so you can fold if he comes over the top of you.

I'm no expert on stats, but I think your Agg is too high and WTSD% too low. This is probably because you are playing too many hands you have to throw away on later streets when they don't improve. I think all you need to do is tighten up your opening hand ranges and learn to fold TPTK :s_biggrin:

      Great blog, keep it up

As lee200 said, you WTSD is very low, mine is hanging around the 25% mark and you are very aggressive, try and tone down the triple barreling stuff when you don't have a great hand (I'm assuming that's what it is). Also, I know how hard it is but try and bring that VPIP and PFR closer together :) I had the same problem, start raising your pocket pairs (44-88 after UTG) instead of limping, just remember that limping isn't really much use to you because not only do you have no idea where you stand against your opponent, you also miss out on the opportunity to build up the pot preflop in case you hit the flop big :) Good luck and great blog man, keep it up :D

Omg how can u have such a low VPIP? I played like a complete nit yesterday, and elephant still showed me 23/16.:s_confused: I even folded 76s from MP, which was my biggest laydown of the day.:f_biggrin:

Raise flop, pot turn, shove river, say gg and take his money.:s_cool: Almost nobody's folding KQ at NL5. I'm sure you could have had his remaining 2 bucks as well.

And the second hand.. i think theres nothing you can do on the river but call, you're getting a lot to one (im lazy to count it) on your money..

About that TPTK stuff... i think it depends a lot on the board texture.. i think shoving AK on A83 rainbow board (esp at micros) is absolutely right, but shoving AJ of diamonds on JT9 all spades would be just plain stupid. It also depends on the villain. Agains a complete moron, im shoving A9o in the first hand, against a nit im folding AK to a raise.

Ur graph looks exactly as mine.. grinding it up, then a cooler/bad beat/stupid call and again..

      Keep rollin man!

Edit: oh, and limping's for little girls. :s_biggrin: See my signature.:s_biggrin:

Heya guys, thanks for replies, it always cheers me up if somebody is reading my stuff and then post proper answers, thanks again !!!

      @lee200:

yep you are right i need to play this TPTK hands more passive after turn...
i will deffinately try this attitude today

and for stats, lately i was reading some posts here on forum and i figure out that my hand collection is to small to look for some leaks ... i will post my stats maybe after 20k hands and then look for some leaks...

      @Wriggers:

about vpip/pfr i know about this but it cannot be repaired in couple hundred hands, i am already raising pocket pairs after UTG but i have a lot of hands on the start of NL5 when i was just limping pocket pairs and suited connectors and stuff like that just because i was reading only bronze articles at the time :D Now i am in the middle of silver articles trying to figure out my post flop game :D

      @Alficor1:

Hehe thx mate for evaluation, I can see that you are pretty aggressive player :D i need to learn that, for now with mediocre hands i am pretty scared of reraise and cannot push that feeling away...

Yesterday was a day without poker, the whole evening i spend playing beach volleyball with my friends because this weekend i will play on 2 tournaments so i must be ready ;) .
But of course i was reading in tram some articles about stats and trying to figure out which stats I am going to use in my HUD.

For start Iam going to try this setup:

Hands / VPIP / PFR / AF / Went to Showdown
Steal / 3 bet / fold to 3 bet / flop CBET / Fold to flop CBET

what do you think about this setup guys? Is it enaugh for beginning or maybe too much to follow ?

Thank you again for your concern!

      GL&HF

Poker player of the year :D

Those are the same stats I use in nearly the same order! I started out with less and worked my way up, but I don't think it really matters. Hovering over the 3bet gives the fold to 3 bet stat which I find quite useful when you want to punish a stealer :)

      I personally use:

      VPIP/PFR/Steal/Fold to Steal/3bet
      AF/Cbet flop/Fold to flop Cbet

But yours seems completely fine :D

What u mean? Sevens full a mediocre hand? Man i'd bet even my granny with sevens full on that hand.:D It's not about being aggressive, but about betting your hands properly. Like i said, i think you could have had his remaining stack too. If he's willing to put in such a big part of his stack (he gave you about 70% of what he had at the start) with KQ here, he's obv gonna give 100% as well.

Yeah, i know that feeling, i think you just need to play a ton and then you wont feel it.. losing and winning big pots (considering stakes) helps. You'll see, its gonna get better.:f_cool:
