L'ancien milieu offensif qui a notamment joué à Nice ou Monaco vient de remporter le tournoi Deepstack à 1.000€ du casino Cannes Croisette, et signe ainsi une nouvelle performance de taille.<\/p>

<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong>Jean-Philippe, quelle place tient le poker dans votre vie ?<\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : le poker n’est pas mon métier, mais c’est une véritable passion. J’y passe donc beaucoup de temps, mais j’ai déjà une activité professionnelle. C’est un loisir comme un autre, mais je pratique ce sport du mieux possible en essayant de gagner. Je travaille régulièrement mon jeu, et lorsque je me déplace pour un tournoi, c’est pour le gagner. <\/strong><\/p>


<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>après le foot, considères<\/strong>-tu que le poker est aussi un \"métier de rêve\" ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : pour ceux qui en ont fait un métier et qui peuvent en vivre (et ils sont rares), je pense que c’est merveilleux. C’est surtout le fait de faire quelque chose qui plaît et de pouvoir en vivre qui est idéal.<\/p>

<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>est ce que le fait d’être un ancien footballer est un avantage au niveau du stress et de la pression lors d’un tournoi de poker ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : je suis convaincu que c’est un avantage, et je pense mieux gérer les mauvaises passes lors d’un tournoi. Grâce au sport, je suis devenu très tenace et c’est là tout le tempérament d’un compétiteur. Sans être un vrai challenger on ne peut pas espérer être un grand joueur de poker. Il faut avoir l’esprit de gagnant qui est propre aux sportifs. <\/strong><\/p>


<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>ton meilleur souvenir poker ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : la victoire du Joa Poker Tour sans aucun doute. La table finale se déroulait sur la plage, et j’ai pu ainsi avoir ma femme et mes enfants à mes côtés au moment de la victoire, chose impossible dans un casino où mes enfants ne sont pas admis. <\/strong><\/p>

<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>le poker n’est-il pour toi qu’une étape ou une véritable reconversion ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : j’ai encore envie de jouer très longtemps au poker. C’est du long terme, et j’ai envie de progresser encore et encore. <\/strong><\/p>


<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>on sait que tu as des équipes préférées, comme celle de Barcelone par exemple, as tu également un joueur préféré ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : j’aime beaucoup toute la jeune génération. J’adore plusieurs joueurs comme ElkY<\/em>, Adrien Allain, Hugo Lemaire ou Pedro Canali pour ne citer qu’eux. Mais d’une manière générale, j’aime les jeunes car j’apprends beaucoup d’eux. J’aime partager et discuter du jeu avec eux car ils sont vraiment très bons. <\/strong><\/p>


<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>au contraire de Vikash Dhorasoo, lui aussi devenu joueur, tu considères le poker comme un sport, pourquoi ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : pour moi, il n’y a que des points communs avec le sport. Pour un tournoi comme pour un match, il faut déjà être prêt physiquement. Des joueurs comme ElkY <\/em>ont compris il y a longtemps que sans une préparation physique on ne pouvait pas être bien dans sa tête. Lorsque l’on a compris ça, on est bien préparé et on a donc une meilleure concentration. Il n’y a pas de place pour des erreurs d’inattention dans un tournoi de poker. Avant un tournoi, je ressens exactement ce que je ressentais avant un match : l’excitation, l’adrénaline, le bon stress qui monte comme lorsque l’on fait du sport de haut niveau. Ensuite, lorsque tu as la chance de gagner, tu as la jouissance de la victoire, le partage avec tes amis et\/ou coéquipiers (de la Team PmuPoker.fr pour ma part). Ce sont des sensations que l’on ne trouve nulle part ailleurs. <\/strong><\/p>


<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>tu as débuté dans le milieu du jeu par le Backgammon. Peux-tu m’en dire davantage ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : j’ai arrêté à 31 ans le foot à cause d’une blessure. Peu de temps après, et alors que je vivais à Juan-Les-Pins, le Backgammon est arrivé d’abord comme un jeu de plage. Cela m’a tout de suite plu, et grâce au conseil de Francois Tardieu que je connaissais et qui était l’un des meilleurs joueurs mondiaux, j’ai progressé et je suis devenu à mon tour un très bon joueur. J’ai été deux fois champion de France, et j’ai participé aux demi-finales du Championnat du Monde de Las Vegas où j’ai perdu suite à un véritable bad beat. C’est aussi grâce à ce jeu que j’ai pu rencontrer des joueurs comme Phil Laak ou encore Gus Hansen. Vers 2006, les joueurs de Backgammon se sont tournés petit à petit vers le poker, jusqu’au jour où la salle où je jouais comportais autant de tables de poker que de Backgammon. A l’époque, je ne savais même pas ce qu’était une paire ! Finalement, j’ai dû moi aussi m’y mettre et cela m’a tout de suite plu. Rapidement, j’ai cherché à progressé et je me suis mis à lire des tas de livres stratégiques. J’ai toujours voulu être le meilleur possible et je me suis donné les moyens d’aller loin, même si je ne serai jamais ElkY<\/em>. <\/strong><\/p>


<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>qu’est-ce qui fait le plus mal : un but encaissé dans les arrêts de jeu, ou perdre à la bulle d’un tournoi ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : c’est exactement pareil. C’est terrible et frustrant. On a entrevu pendant de longs moments la victoire et puis en une fraction de seconde tout s’écroule. <\/strong><\/p>


<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>qu’est<\/strong>-ce<\/strong>-qui te plaît le plus dans la vie d’un joueur ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : c’est la ressemblance avec le métier de sportif de haut niveau. Je suis également conscient que nous avons beaucoup de chance de voyager autant dans de si beaux endroits, comme la semaine prochaine à l’Ile Maurice par exemple. L’esprit de \"famille\" avec les autres membres de la team est très important aussi, c’est comme avec mes anciens coéquipiers de foot. <\/strong><\/p>


<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>tu as fais de beaux résultats poker dans ta carrière et tu viens de remporter un nouveau tournoi devant 104 joueurs. T’attendais-tu à de tels résultats avant de débuter ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : non, je ne m’attendais pas à une telle réussite. Mais comme je viens de le dire, j’ai toujours tout fait pour essayer d’être le meilleur. <\/strong><\/p>


<\/strong> <\/strong> \"\" PokerStrategy.com : <\/strong><\/strong>qu’as tu pensé du field de ce tournoi, et à quel moment as-tu senti que tu pouvais gagner ? <\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Philippe Rohr : le field était très relevé. Beaucoup de bons joueurs comme Paul Guichard, Antonin Teisseire, Jérémy Palvini, Marc Inizan ou encore toute la team Barriere étaient présents. Mais dès la fin du Jour 1, j’avais le 3ème<\/sup> tapis et j’ai pensé que je pouvais gagner. Tout se passait bien, je n’ai pas eu de mauvaise rencontre et je n’ai pas arrêté de monter des jetons. Le jour de la finale, je suis revenu pour gagner et c’est ce que j’ai fais. Cela a été relativement long, mais plusieurs joueurs ont fait de grosses erreurs et ils ont été éliminés. Peut-être que ma concentration a pu faire la différence. <\/strong><\/p>
