La proximité du Championnat du Monde de H.O.R.S.E. a empêché Tom Schneider de défendre son titre en Seven Card Stud Hi\/Lo. Dommage, car avec déjà quatre places payées, Tom Schneider a montré que sa régularité pouvait s'avérer un gage de réussite. Et pas que dans des petits tournois : 12ème du Championnat du Monde de Mixed Event (36.096$), 5ème en Deuce-To-Seven (104.101$), 20ème à l'event 22 de H.O.R.S.E. (7.998$) et 12ème en Razz (event 26, 10.203$). Près de 160.000$ gagnés à la sueur de son front.<\/p>

\nUn autre marathonien de ces WSOP a été une des première victimes du jour : David Levi (déjà 6 places payées) fut rapidement éliminé par un David Sklansky très en forme. Et un autre spécialiste des jeux lows échoua dans les premières heures : Hoyt Corkins. La journée fut en outre assez difficile pour Phil Hellmuth qui a décidément beaucoup de mal à s'imposer (avec des cartes) lors de ces World Series.\n<\/p>

\nLe day 2 commença avec 117 joueurs parmi les 544 qui s'étaient acquittés du droit d'entrée de 1.500$. Quelques éliminations vinrent pimenter l'après-midi : Soheil Shamseddi, Cindy Violette, ... Tony G se retrouva à tapis au cours d'une main avec tout au plus une paire de 5 et sans pouvoir qualifier un low : fin de parcours. Puis c'est David Singer qui fit paf en même temps que la bulle.\n<\/p>

\nLa vraie star du mois, John Phan, a sorti une petite place payée : 50ème (2.450$). Et, incroyable nouvelle, Phil Hellmuth a terminé dans l'argent (pour la soixante-cinquième fois) alors que ce n'était même pas du Hold'em : 33ème, 2.895$. Il ne pouvait cependant pas quitter la place sans traiter son adversaire de tous les noms, ce qui contribuera indéniablement à sa gloire éternelle. Dans un genre plus discret, Eugene Katchalov a fini 26ème et a touché 3.638$.\n<\/p>

\n \n<\/p>

\nMen Nguyen a été très heureux de toucher un low dès la 5ème street, mais beaucoup moins de découvrir le jeu de Mike Hefer : 5c6c7c6d4cAd7h. Le maître termina ainsi 17ème (4.752$). La troisième journée commença avec 13 joueurs plutôt que 8, et pour constituer la table finale, il fallut attendre l'élimination de James Richburg (9ème, 15.593$). David Sklansky prit la huitième place pour couper court à tout suspense (19.306$), et le bracelet finit dans l'escarcelle de Ryan Hughes (183.368$).\n<\/p>
