<\/title><p><!--\n@page { size: 8.5in 11in; margin: 0.79in }\nP { margin-bottom: 0.08in }\n--><\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<i>News rédigée par Philippe<\/i> (<i>aka<\/i> <i>Ph1l1pp3<\/i>)\n<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n \n<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\nLe gratin du poker mondial s'était<br>\ndonné rendez-vous au Bellagio pour ce grand tournoi qui se<br>\nprésente comme une seconde chance pour les recalés du<br>\nMain Event. La quatrième édition du Bellagio Cup a en<br>\neffet commencé lors du Day 4 du Championnat du Monde de<br>\nHold'em, soit le 11 juillet. Avec le beau monde qui trainait alors<br>\ndans les rues de Las Vegas, on peut imaginer que le field avait de<br>\nquoi faire peur aux plus aguerris.\n<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\nAvec un buy-in de 15.000$ et 446<br>\njoueurs, le prizepool total atteignait la coquette somme de<br>\n6.489.300$. Et la redistribution en était assez particulière,<br>\npuisque cent joueurs allaient recevoir de l'argent, soit près<br>\nd'un joueur sur quatre. Mais la structure en était assez<br>\nalléchante : avec 45.000 jetons au départ, le premier<br>\ndes 34 niveaux prévus était constitué de blindes<br>\n50\/100. Au 17 juillet, lors de la table finale, il en coûtait<br>\nsensiblement plus : 100.000\/200.000 avec un ante de 20.000.\n<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\nMais nous n'en sommes pas encore là.<br>\nLes cinquante premiers joueurs in the money recevaient 19.390$. Ce<br>\nfut le cas de plusieurs joueurs français qui confirment leur<br>\ntalent et leur forme actuelle. Patrick Bueno, trois fois ITM aux WSOP<br>\n08 dont une remarquable 8ème place au Championnat du Monde de<br>\nH.O.R.S.E., a terminé 85ème. Quant à Roger<br>\nHairabedian, le pittoresque vainqueur du Grand Prix de Paris, il<br>\ntermina 77ème. Tous deux faisaient ainsi partie d'une première<br>\ntranche qui comptait Justin Bonomo (93ème), Phil Laak (80ème),<br>\nScotty Nguyen (73ème), et quelques autres.\n<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\nLe montant du chèque passait<br>\nensuite à 25.855$. Parmi ceux qui en ont bénéficié,<br>\non trouve jennifer Tilly (49ème), Isaac Haxton (45ème)<br>\net Todd Brunson (42ème). Encore plus heureux sont ceux qui ont<br>\npris 38.785$ : Barry Greenstein (30ème), Ted Forrest (26ème)<br>\net Hevad Khan (25ème). Pour sa quatorzième place, le<br>\nCanadien Glen Chorny vainqueur de la grande finale de l'EPT a reçu<br>\n64.640$. David \"The Dragon\" Pham échoua non loin de<br>\nla table finale (9ème, 90.495$).\n<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\nCelle-ci comptait quelque jeunots de la<br>\ngénération internet, mais surtout deux monstres sacrés<br>\naux dents longues : David Benyamine et John Phan. The Razor flancha<br>\npourtant en cinquième position (193.915$), et après<br>\nl'élimination de Ralph Perry (4ème, 290.900$), le vieux<br>\nbriscard habitué de la grosse table du Bellagio se retrouva<br>\nshort stack face à deux jeunes loups du net. Son expérience<br>\net sa sagesse lui permirent cependant de renverser la vapeur : Luke<br>\nStaudenmaier fut éliminé (3ème, 452.465$) et<br>\nBenyamine aborda le heads up en chip leader.\n<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\nLa chance n'était<br>\nmalheureusement pas avec lui. A tapis avec QQ contre AK, un As sur la<br>\nrivière anéantit sa belle avance. Il eut pourtant<br>\nencore la lucidité de payer le tapis de son adversaire avec K9<br>\n(contre Q9), mais une dame au flop fut sa seule récompense. Le<br>\njeune Mike Watson empocha 1.673.370$, sa plus belle victoire jusqu'à<br>\nprésent (il avait déjà gagné 60.000$ au<br>\nWPT L.A. Classic en février). David Benyamine gagne tout de<br>\nmême 840.295$, et il passe aussi 3ème au classement POY<br>\nde Card Player, juste derrière Erik Seidel et John Phan.
