\nLes raisons de ce taux de prélèvement hallucinant ? La volonté du groupe de transformer ce tournoi en véritable événement médiatique. Quand on voit la cohorte de pros américains qui sont venus dans la petite ville de Cannes, on se doute bien qu'ils n'ont pas dû payer grand chose de leurs frais... Pour quelle autre raison David Benyamine, Scotty Nguyen, Robert Mizrachi ou même Gus Hansen auraient-ils fait le voyage ? Cela implique donc que les amateurs ou les joueurs moins connus payent pour les pros... Tout à coup, cela fausse complètement la donne en terme d'espérance de gain. Comme l'expliquait récemment le champion hollandais de PLO Rob Hollink à propos de la taxation des gains aux WSOP pour les Européens : \"Si vous savez que 20% de vos gains partent en taxe, votre espérance de gain tombe énormément. Pareil pour le rake : au dessus de 10%, c'est carrément du vol !\"\n<\/div>\n

\nAu delà de cette polémique réelle, les Français étaient bien au rendez-vous du Main Event et des Side-Events. Si seuls Gus Hansen (10ème avec 58.000 €) et Robert Mizrachi ont fait de belles performances au Main Event, la table finale a accueilli le champion de bridge et de poker Michel Abécassis, qui sautera en 8ème position avec paire de 7 contre paire de Rois (pour 78.000 €). Le chipleader des deux premiers jours, Brice Cornut repart quant à lui juste après (et empoche plus de 100.000 €). La finale n'était pas d'un niveau particulièrement relevé, avec des joueurs techniques qui se sont la plupart du temps remis aux lois du coinflip pour départager les gagnants. A ce petit jeu, c'est le Français Alain Roy qui repart millionnaire avec le titre du PPT (paire de 9 contre la paire du 7 du Suisse Claudio Rinaldi, qui prend 500.000 €).\n<\/div>\n

\nDans les side-events, une très bonne surprise, la victoire (sans deal) de Rémy Biéchel. Ce jeune pro parisien est la valeur montante du poker français. Avec 4 places payées cette année aux WSOP, plusieurs bonnes performances dans le circuit Barrière Poker Tour et deux places gagnantes dans les satellites du PPT, il décroche 70.000 EUR dans le Side Event 3.
