\"PokerIl n'y a même pas douze mois, l'APPT inaugurait une nouvelle ère pour le jeu en Asie. Tous les regards étaient en effet tournés vers ce premier tournoi de poker international dans l'Empire du Milieu. Mais avec 538 participants et un prize pool de 1.620.897 $, la seconde édition de l'événement a battu tous les records. L'APPT de Macao 2008 devint ainsi le plus grand tournoi de poker jamais disputé en terre asiatique. Et un grand succès à tous points de vue : presque 15 % des joueurs étaient originaires de Chine, Hong-Kong, Taiwan ou Macao.

\nC'est néanmoins un américain qui s'est finalement imposé. Edward Sabat s'est débarrassé de tous ses opposants venus du monde entier pour emmener le titre APPT dans ses bagages vers les Etats-Unis. Malgré un gros tapis au départ et donc des conditions optimales, Sabat est tout de même passé par des hauts et des bas avant de dérocher son premier prix.

Il a pour cela du affronter le Malais Charles Chua lors du heads-up. Et alors que Chua était chip leader au moment du duel, la situation s'est renversée dès la première main. Evidemment, la balance pencha plusieurs fois d chaque côté avant de désigner Sabat comme le grand vainqueur de l'épreuve.<\/p>

C'est sur un board que tout s'est joué : les deux opposants envoyèrent tous leurs jetons au milieu de la table. Sabat avait pour un beau tirage couleur, et Chua avait touché la top paire avec . Le tournant apporta à Sabat quelques outs supplémentaires pour une suite, mais sans encore compromettre l'avantage de Chua.
