L'affrontement tant attendu entre Gus Hansen (\"The Great Dane<\/i>\") et Theo Jorgensen (\"The Thunder<\/i>\"
\n) a finalement eu lieu hier. C'est l'émission online de Hansen elle-même, GusHansenTV.com, qui a retransmis l'événement en direct. Après avoir échangé quelques coups et chauffé la salle, les deux légendes en sont venues à entrer, si l'on peut dire, dans le vif du sujet en montrant de quoi ils étaient capables. <\/p>

\nTheo, Gus et Rocky Balboa
\n<\/span>\n<\/div>
\n\"gusCe soir-là, le match a débuté dans une ambiance très \"Rocky Balboa\" : un grand écran montrait les deux joueurs en train de se mettre en condition, tandis que, dans toute la salle, était diffusée la célèbre musique du film. Les deux joueurs n'avaient sans doute pas prévu de prendre les choses à la légère : musculation, coachs privés, échauffements, caprices de stars et tout le reste. Tous deux avaient certainement eu l'occasion de voir toute la série des Rocky et avaient donc fait la liste de leurs exigences en vue du combat. \n

Theo est le premier à être arrivé sur le ring, sur une musique de circonstance - AC\/DC Thunderstruck. Chacun appréciera... Quant à Gus, il est venu à son tour, mais avec une approche un peu différente : assis dans un fauteuil roulant, il saluait tout autour de lui avec un large sourire et un air innocent. Puis il s'est installé tranquillement sur le ring, avec en accompagnement le morceau de Culture Club où l'on entend Boy Georges chanter : \"Do you really want to hurt me?<\/i>\" (Ndt : \"As-tu vraiment envie de me faire mal ? \"). <\/p>\n

Mais cette arrivée s'est vite avérée trompeuse. Ce fou de Gus nous en a donné pour notre argent : à peine le match commencé, il a fait  le maniaque du all-in. Par la suite, son jeu toujours agressif a payé, mais Theo a su profiter de chaque moment où il avait les mains libres pour rendre les coups. Cependant, il faut reconnaître qu'à certains moments, le style de Gus Hansen pouvait rappeler les grandes heures de Bob Sapp : une main en avant, - histoire de tenir votre adversaire en respect -, et l'autre prête à lui asséner un bon coup sur la tête. \n<\/p><\/div>

\nLe premier round s'est avéré assez égal, si ce n'est que le public était plutôt avare en encouragements – dans la salle, on aurait cru entendre souffler \"Theo, Theo\". Puis le deuxième round a commencé exactement de la même façon. On peut penser que les deux hommes se sont entraînés tout autant pour ce match, mais à vrai dire, Gus a réussi à faire de cet affrontement une métaphore de son style et de son jeu. \n

Plus tard, l'agressivité excessive des deux joueurs les a amenés l'un après l'autre à deux doigts de la défaite. Toutefois, on peut dire que l'ensemble est resté de bonne qualité : pas de coups-bas. Après les deux premiers rounds, le final : Gus a continué à charger et Theo à contre-attaquer, parfois avec une telle force qu'à un moment, il est même parvenu à faire vasciller Gus. Plus tard, Gus a expliqué que s'il s'est retrouvé par terre, ce n'était pas pour feindre un éventuel KO, mais bien parce que Theo \"the thunder\" l'avait bel et bien poussé. <\/p>\n

La \"stratégie des bras cinglants et du large sourire\" n'a pas donné les résultats que Gus avait sans doute espérés. Il a gardé son sourire jusqu'à la fin du match, mais les juges ont estimé, à deux voix contre une, que la victoire revenait à Theo \"the thunder\". Comme il se doit, c'est Gus qui s'est exprimé le premier au micro. <\/p>\n

Tout d'abord, il a avoué qu'il ne s'attendait pas à trouver en Theo un adversaire aussi coriace. Il pensait le trouver plus timide, pour ne pas dire que s'il a été surpris par les coups de Theo, c'est parce que celui-ci a montré, par sa grande forme qu'il s'était particulièrement bien préparé à ce match. Sous-estimer son adversaire, a-t-il ajouté, lui a été fatal. A moins qu'il n'ait cherché ainsi à minimiser sa défaite...<\/p>\n

Puis il a conclu son discours en disant qu'il était grand temps pour lui de \"la fermer et de rendre ce p*** de micro à Theo<\/i>\". Les choses ne se sont pas passées comme Gus l'avait prévu. Peut-être même avait-il préparé un discours de victoire, mais à présent, tout ce qu'il peut faire, c'est le garder pour leur prochaine rencontre.
