55 joueurs s'étaient présentés au début du Day 3 de l'EPT de Varsovie, et 24 d'entre eux reviendront aujourd'hui aux tables du casino Hyatt Regencys. Chaque joueur restant est assuré de remporter 6.874€, et la journée s'arrêtera lorsque la table finale sera composée.<\/p>

Le Canadien Jeff Sarwer et Clayton Mozdzen sont en bonne position pour atteindre la table finale. Sarwer, ancien joueur d'échecs professionnel, a accumulé un stack impressionnant de 956.500 jetons à la fin de la journée. Avec des blinds de 3.000\/6.000 et 500 d'ante, il possède l'équivalent de 150 big blinds. Le chip leader du Day précédent, Clayton Mozdzen, détient un stack de 574.000 jetons et se place second.<\/p>

Le joueur allemand Alexander Debus est troisième avec 479.000 jetons. Il est descendu à 50.000 jetons environ après avoir perdu avec A-D<\/b> vs. R-R<\/b>, mais il a réussi à doubler de nombreuses fois avant de gagner une main très importante avec A-R<\/b> vs. A-10<\/b>.<\/p>

Carter Phillips éliminé<\/h2>

Le vainqueur de l'EPT de Barcelone Carter Phillips n'est pas parvenu à répéter ses précédents succès, et il est sorti du tournoi après deux très bons jours de jeu. Apparemment fatigué depuis le début du tournoi, les choses ne se sont pas améliorées pour Phillips, notamment face à Maurice Schulmann.<\/p>

Après une relance et une sur-relance de Phillips, Schulmann a décidé d'envoyer son tapis après quelques instants de réflexion. Phillips a payé avec 5-5<\/b> et a demandé, énervé, à son adversaire, \"Est-ce que tu viens de sous-jouer ?\", lorsque Schulmann dévoilait une paire de Dames. Mais ce n'est pas tout : Phillips perdait toutes ses mains, et lorsqu'il est parvenu à atteindre les 20.000 jetons, il a été éliminé par Schulmann avec A-R<\/b> contre A-8<\/b>.<\/p>

Pagano, dernier pro de PokerStars<\/h2>

\"LucaLe dernier pro de PokerStars<\/a> encore en course est l'Italien Luca Pagano (photo de droite) avec un stack de 112.500 jetons. C'est la douzième fois que Pagano atteint les places payées dans l'EPT. Il a remporté son plus gros gain lors de la Grand Final 2008, avec 337.000€ pour sa sixième place. S'il termine premier à Varsovie, il pourra battre son record de gains, puisque le premier prix est de 358.645€.<\/p>

Avant d'en arriver là, il doit se qualifier pour la table finale, où - en plus des joueurs cités plus haut - pourraient l'attendre le Français Antony Lellouche, l'Américain Shaun Deeb ou le Russe Vitaly Lunkin, qui ont tous de grandes ambitions pour ce tournoi.<\/p>
