La première édition du North American Poker Tour de PokerStars<\/a> a débuté avec la tenue du premier tournoi au casino Venetian de Las Vegas. 872 joueurs ont déboursé le droit d'entrée de 5.000$, générant un prize pool total de quatre millions de dollars.<\/p>

Le high stakes pro Tom \"Kingsofcards\" Marchese s'est adjugé la victoire en remportant le heads up final face à Sam Stein. Stein, qui était largement favori quelques temps auparavant dans le tournoi, a chuté sur le dernier obstacle après avoir dominé les trois derniers jours de compétition.<\/p>

Ce chèque de 827.648$ permet à Marchese de dépasser la barre symbolique du million de dollars de gains réalisé en tournois live en 2010. Il a en effet remporté il y a moins d'un mois 190.027$ en terminant troisième du Borgata Winter Open.<\/p>
