Meghatározás<\/h2>

Pókerbotnak egy önállóan működő programot neveznek, ami egy játékost szimulál. Ezt szimulált játékost szintén pokerbotnak vagy botnak nevezik. A program egy vagy több játékban tud részt venni, és a döntéseit az őt alkotó algoritmusok alapján hozza meg.<\/p>

Felhasználási területek<\/h2>

\nAz ilyen szoftverek számára a legfőbb felhasználási területek egyrészt az edzőprogramok, másrészt a tényleges online játékokban történő bevetés, amikor a bot<\/a> valódi ember ellenfelekkel áll ki. Az utóbbi felhasználást a legtöbb póker<\/a> platform és játékos csalásnak tartja, a platform üzemeltetői pedig méréseket végeznek, hogy visszaszorítsák ennek a használatát. A pokerbotok programozására időközben kialakult a programozóknak egy köre, akiknek a motivációja javarészt tudományos-technikai érdeklődésből ered, és mint más játékoknál, pl. sakk vagy backgammon, azon fáradoznak, hogy a játék-készséget a számítógép oldaláról, egyre tovább kiépítsék, és finomítsák. Ezzel szemben állnak az ilyen jellegű programok olyan programozói, ill. felhasználói, akiknek az a célja, hogy az online-pókerjátékokon való alkalmazás során ezzel pénzt keressenek.\n<\/p>

A fejlődés állása<\/h2>

\nAz olyan vitatott, szaktudás nélkül nehezen megfogható téma, mint amilyen ez is, nagy mérvű legenda keletkezéssel jár együtt, úgyhogy nehezen lehet megállapítani, hogy a botok jelenleg mennyire kiforrottak. Ami biztosnak tűnik, hogy vannak olyan botok, melyek nyereségesen verik az alacsonyabb limiteket a Fixed Limit\/ No Limit<\/a> Hold'em Cash Game-ekben és versenyeken, ami természetszerűleg azon alapul, hogy a játékosok ezeken a limiteken nem jelentenek különösebben erős ellenfelet. Az akadémiai projektek keretében kifejlesztett programok, mint a Vex Bot<\/a>, időközben már képesek lépést tartani a magasabb szintek játékosaival is.
