A Disconnect Protection<\/a> (kapcsolat-megszakítás elleni védelem<\/a>) arra szolgál, hogy a résztvevő tétjét egy online játékban megvédje, arra az esetre, ha az internet kapcsolata megszakadna. A szokásos eljárásmód egy ilyen esetben, hogy a játékos ill. a már megtett tétjeit all-in-ként kezelik, úgy mintha az egész pénzét feltette volna, csak éppen marad még pénze. Ily módon továbbra is játékban marad, és automatikusan részt vesznek a terítésben az adott tétkörben már megtett tétjei. <\/p>

Ennek a védőfunkciónak a kezelése szolgáltatóról-szolgáltatóra eltérő. Rendszerint az ilyen megszakításoknak a száma korlátozott, melyekhez a játékos igénybe veheti a Disconnect Protection-t, és ráadásul a versenyeken gyakran nem áll rendelkezésre, úgyhogy annak a játékosnak a lapjai dobásra kerülnek, akinek a szolgáltató szerverével megszakad a kapcsolata, és elveszíti az összes addig megtett tétjét.<\/p>

\nAz említett korlátozások azért vannak, hogy visszaszorítsák az ezzel való a visszaéléseket, mivel, mivel a játékos bármikor kihúzhatja a hálózati csatlakozóját, és ezzel szándékosan megszakíthatja a kapcsolatát olyan helyzetben, amikor számára túl magasak lesznek a tétek, de nem szeretné dobni a kezét. Az ilyen magatartást, a Disconnect Protection<\/a> Abuse-t (visszaélést a kapcsolat-megszakítás védelemmel) a szolgáltatók csalásként értékelik, amire viszont csak nehezen lehet rábizonyítani a szándékosságot.
