Egy adott számú out (jó), avagy segítő kártya számára, ami kiegészíti a saját húzó<\/a> kezünket, mindig van egy adott egyértelmű valószínűség arra, hogy egyikük a következő kártyával vagy kártyákkal kiosztásra kerül. Ezt a valószínűséget az odds<\/a> (esélyek) írásmódban adjuk meg, ill. mint odds<\/a> against (ellenesély), annak a valószínűségeként, hogy a húzó<\/a> nem érkezik meg.<\/p>

\nA játékos húzót tart a kőr flössre. Még további kilenc kőr-kártya van a pakliban, úgyhogy ő kilenc out-tal (jóval) rendelkezik. Van öt kártya, amiről a játékos tudja, hogy azokat már nem lehet kiosztani: az ő két sajátja, és a flop<\/a> három kártyája. Mivel egy kártyapakli 52 lapból áll, ezért a turnnél 52-5 = 47 lehetséges kártya jelenhet meg. 47-9 = 38 az ő számára értéktelen, 9 viszont segítő. Az odds<\/a> against, vagyis hogy a játékos a turnnél nem talál el további kőrt, ezért a következő:<\/p>

odds<\/a> against = 38:9 = 4,5:1

\nMásképpen fogalmazva: 19%-ban fogja a játékos a flössét eltalálni a turnön. 35%-ban tudja azt kiegészíteni vagy a turnön, vagy a riveren, ami 1,9 :1 odds<\/a> against-tel ajándékozza meg őt.\n<\/p>
