A pot odds<\/a> (bank(pot<\/a>)esélyek) visszatükrözik a lehetséges nyereménynek a fizetendő téthez való viszonyát, tehát kifejezi a megadandó tét haszon\/költség arányát.<\/p>

\nAz „A\" játékos 5$-t nyit<\/a>.<\/p>

A pot<\/a> most 15$-t ér. Ez a lehetséges nyeremény. A következő játékosnak, „B\"-nek a költsége 5$ lesz. Ezzel 15$: 5$ vagy 3: 1 bankesélyt kap.\n<\/p>

Jelentősége:<\/h2>

\nA pot<\/a> (bank) esélynek akkor van jelentősége, ha arról a kérdésről van szó, hogy hosszú távon megéri-e együtt menni egy téttel, pl. egy húzó<\/a> játszásakor. Ha a költségek a lehetséges nyereséghez viszonyítva túl magasak, a nyerési valószínűségben mérve, akkor nem éri meg együtt menni a téttel. Ebben az esetben túl ritkán nyerünk ahhoz, hogy hosszú távon kifizetődne a befektetés.<\/p>

Például, ha két játékos van az utolsó tétkörben, az „A\" játékos 2$-t tesz egy 10$-os bankba, míg a „B\" játékos csak egy blöfföt tud megverni, ekkor az „A\" játékosnak hét esetből egyszer blöffölnie kell ahhoz, hogy a „B\" játékos hosszú távon veszteség nélkül tudjon együtt menni a téttel. <\/p>

A banki (pot<\/a>) esélyek ebben az esetben 10$+2$: 2$ vagyis 6: 1. Ekkor „B\" játékos ezért veszteség nélkül - de ugyanakkor nyereség nélkül is - szállna ki a helyzetből, ha az odd-jai (esélyei), vagyis a nyerési valószínűsége 6:1 lenne. Megadásnál 6 esetben veszíthet (egyenként 2$-t veszít, ami összesen 12$) és egy esetben kell nyernie (12$-t nyer).
\nEmiatt körülbelül az esetek 14%-ában kellene az „A\" játékosnak ebben a helyzetben blöffölnie.<\/p>
