Egy stack (letét<\/a>) akkor kicsi, ha az ellenfél letétjeivel, a maximális asztali nevezési díjjal vagy az aktuális kényszertétekkel összehasonlítva viszonylag kicsi és kevés pénzt vagy zsetont tartalmaz. Azt a játékost, akinek kicsi a letétje, átvitt értelemben shortstack-nek (kis letétesnek) is nevezzünk. Például shortstack<\/a> az a játékos, akinek csak 20 big betje van a letétjében egy olyan asztalnál, ahol a maximum nevezési díj 100 big bet (nagy tét<\/a>).
\nA zsetonok vagy pénz csekély mennyisége közvetlenül kihat a játékmódra. <\/p>

Egy shortstack-nek nincs lehetőség nagyköltségű, komplex lépések kivitelezésére. Az ellenféltől végülis csak annyit nyerhet el, amennyi a saját letétjében van. Ebből kifolyólag főleg a spekulatív kezekhez és játéklépésekhez szükséges implikált esélyek<\/a> hiányoznak neki.<\/p>

Egy versenyben a shortstack<\/a> nyomás alatt áll, hogy a letétet a lehető leggyorsabban megduplázza, megtriplázza és így tovább, de nem tud túl sokáig várni egy jó kézre, máskülönben „felzabálják\" őt a kényszertétek.<\/p>
