Buone notizie e dichiarazione ufficiale sul problema di sicurezza di Titan Poker
Titan Poker e il provider del software Playtech hanno reagito di fronte ai casi di hacking: hanno chiuso la falla nella sicurezza e risarcito gli utenti colpiti.
Iniziamo con le buone notizie
Siamo lieti di potervi comunicare che Titan Poker è riuscito a chiarire i casi di hacking degli scorsi giorni.
1. La falla nella sicurezza che ha comportato casi di hacking di account di alcuni pokerstrategisti è stata chiusa.
2. I giocatori colpiti verranno risarciti al 100% e riceveranno 100 Euro di bonus da parte di Titan Poker come ringraziamento per l´aiuto nel risolvere il problema e come piccolo risarcimento per la situazione stressante creatasi.
Il problema
Tre settimane fa nel nostro forum abbiamo constatato situazioni poco piacevoli di utenti che hanno subito attacchi di hacker.
Gli attacchi hacker agli account rappresentano una catastrofe per le vittime e per tale motivo ci siamo subito attivati per evitare ulteriori casi. Grazie al nostro aiuto siamo stati in grado di salvare molti soldi ai giocatori, anche se purtroppo non sempre siamo riusciti ad intervenire in modo tempestivo.
I motivi per gli attacchi hacker agli account
Soprattutto all´inizio non è chiaro quali sono le motivazioni di un attacco di hacking. Si può trattare di errori individuali ma anche di falle nella sicurezza dei gestori di poker. Tuttavia, i casi più frequenti riguardano una sicurezza poco stabile del PC o dei virus.
Durante le nostre ricerche abbiamo potuto notare che molti giocatori agiscono in modo poco attento con le loro password. Bisognerebbe porre attenzione alle seguenti linee guida:
- Le vostre password dovrebbero essere delle combinazioni di lettere e numeri e contenere almeno 8 segni. Almeno una lettera dovrebbe essere scritto in maiuscolo.
- Usate una vostra password per ogni sito di poker, Neteller, Moneybookers e tutti gli account e-mail in relazione ad essi. Per facilitare il lavoro si potrà usare un tool professionale per le password come keepass.info
- Nessuna delle password in alto dovrebbe venire usato per altri account.
- Utilizzo del software Ant Spyware, come ad esempio Spybot Seach and Destroy e l´utilizzo di un viruscanner come Free-AV.
- Tenete aggiornato il vostro sistema operativo.
Come comportarsi di fronte agli account-hacking
Per terzi una valutazione della situazione è quasi impossibile e in veste di PokerStrategy ci sentiamo obbligati a dire la verità ai nostri membri. Per tale motivo il nostro aiuto è rivolto innanzitutto ai giocatori colpiti e ci adoperiamo da subito in ricerche dietro le quinte. Ci rivolgiamo subito ai gestori di poker e proviamo a chiarire subito la situazione nell´interesse dei nostri utenti.
Particolarità di questo caso
Titan Poker non è responsabile per il software di poker. Come skin sul network iPoker Titan Poker deve necessariamente collaborare con il provider del software Playtech. Pertanto, una rapida risoluzione del problema è stata una sfida particolarmente difficile. Il dato di fatto che entro tre settimane la situazione è stata chiarita conferma la nostra impressione che il Management di Titan Poker ha trattato questo caso con la massima priorità.
Bisogna sottolineare che per aggirare la falla nella sicurezza è stato necessario effettuare un attacco di hacking. Sul pc dell´utente è avvenuto l´introduzione nel sistema.
La dichiarazione ufficiale di Titan Poker
Oggi abbiamo ricevuto il risultato degli sforzi delle nostre persone di contatto e di Titan Poker: una dichiarazione ufficiale da parte di Titan Poker concernenti i retroscena degli attacchi di hacking. Il motivo principale è stato un errore nel software nel pokerclient.
Sono stati colpiti persone che usano la funzione "Remember My Password". Questa informazione è stata salvata in un documento non protetto sul pc ed è stato così possibile leggerlo da parte degli hacker. Tuttavia, è stato necessario effettuare un attacco di hacking dapprima sul pc dell´utente.

TITAN POKER, WITH THE HELP OF THE POKERSTRATEGY.COM FORUM, UPGRADES SOFTWARE SECURITY
Titan Poker is pleased to announce, that with the help of the World's
leading Poker Forum, PokerStrategy.com, a software security flaw has
been located and fixed.
Near the end of December, 2008, a small and very limited
number of complaints reached Titan Poker regarding possible breaches of
Titan Poker software security. Players informed Titan Poker that their
accounts had been accessed without their authorization. Titan Poker was
quick to take action, even though these complaints were limited, and
the situation was investigated vigorously. Through this investigation,
Playtech, Titan Poker's software provider, was able to locate and fix
the flaw. What Playtech identified was a breach in software security
for players whose computers were accessed by unauthorized individuals.
Playtech suspects that these specific computers were
jeopardized by a sort of malware or virus which enabled the
unauthorized party access to the computer's different files and
hardrive.
At this stage, once the computer's security was
compromised, the software flaw allowed unauthorized access to Titan
Poker account information. Only players who elected to use the
"Remember My Password" function were affected. This
information was stored in an insecure location and could be manipulated.
As of January 15th, 2009, the situation has been resolved due to
Playtech and Titan Poker treating this situation with utmost
seriousness.
Regarding the affected players, Titan Poker is happy to
guarantee that all compromised accounts will receive a refund and that
no Titan player will suffer a monetary loss as a result of this
incident. Titan Poker has identified each and every one of the affected
players. All players identified through the investigation who were
adversely affected will receive a refund. This refund will cover any
monetary loss in their Titan Poker player account and will be completed
by January 25th, 2009. Titan Poker is also going to add another 100
Euros on top of any lost money as a special gesture to these players -
partly to thank them for their help in identifying the problem, and
also to make up for any inconvenience this caused.
