Il 23enne pro di Full Tilt Tom \"durrrr\" Dwan ha preso parte all'evento WSOP #11, un torneo $1,500 No Limit Hold'em con un field di 2,563 player registrati, che hanno generato un montepremi di $3,460,050.<\/p>

La ragione che spinge il giovane professionista online a prendere parte a questi tornei con bassi buy-in (paragonati ai suoi stake abituali) è una serie di scommesse fatte con altri volti noti come Phil Ivey o Daniel Negreanu, sul fatto che durrr riesca o meno a vincere qualche braccialetto WSOP quest'anno. <\/p>

Dwan ha dato odds di 3.25:1 sul fatto che riuscirà a vincerne uno, e lunedì ci è andato davvero vicino, raggiungendo il final table e addirittura l'heads-up. <\/p>

Ha dovuto però scontrarsi con il neozelandese Simon Watt che godeva di un considerevole vantaggio in chip, e Watt alla fine ha vinto il primo premio di $614,248 ed il braccialetto, quando con una coppia di nove ha eliminato Dwan con Q-6o. Dwan si è dovuto accontentare del secondo posto e di un premio di $381,885.<\/p>

Mike Matusow ha dichiarato a Card Player che se Dwan avesse vinto l'evento avrebbe ricevuto circa $12.5 milioni grazie alle scommesse fatte. Matusow si è riferito al 27enne Watt come un \"eroe dei gambler high stakes\" dopo la vittoria.<\/p>

Quando gli è stato chiesto cosa ne pensasse della vittoria, Watt ha detto: \"Sarebbe già stato abbastanza incredibile arrivare ad un final table, ma battere durrrr in heads-up, davvero non poteva andare meglio di così.\"<\/p>
