E' quanto ha dichiarato il Direttore Esecutivo ai giornalisti durante una conference call, sottolineando che la sua preoccupazione principale è se i giocatori saranno in grado di mettere insieme i Buy-in dei tornei.<\/p>

Le World Series of Poker ospitano 58 tornei con buy-in che vanno da 1.000$ a 50.000$. “Nonostante non possiamo sapere se i recenti sviluppi nel mondo del poker avranno un impatto sulla serie, sono ottimista perché ancora una volta, di fronte ad ogni ostacolo abbiamo continuato a vedere una grande crescita<\/em>”. <\/p>

La serie, di proprietà di Caesars Entertainment Corp., la più grande società al mondo di gioco, ha visto 7.319 iscritti nel Main Event dello scorso anno vinto dal Canadese Jonathan Duhamel con un montepremi da $ 8,9 milioni.<\/p>

Stewart ha dichiarato che le World Series of Poker hanno resistito agli sviluppi negativi nel recente passato ed anche quest’anno la serie sarà un grande spettacolo, e conserverà la sua capacità attrattiva per i professionisti alla ricerca di un piazzamento o per i giocatori amatoriali che sperano di vivere un sogno. Brian Pedersen, un giocatore di 34 anni dall’Arizona, ha dichiarato in merito che ha sempre giocato nei tornei della serie negli ultimi cinque anni, ma difficilmente potrà partecipare anche quest’anno senza l’aiuto dei satelliti su Full Tilt.<\/p>

Pedersen è solo uno dei tantissimi giocatori che hanno partecipato alle World Series of Poker attraverso i Satelliti messi disposizione dalle poker room. Seth Palansky, uno dei Portavoce delle World Series of Poker, ha confermato che i satelliti live presso il Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino dove si svolge la serie e le altre proprietà del Caesars, rappresentano comunque il 15 per cento dei Buy-in del torneo, per cui la partecipazione dei giocatori dovrebbe registrare solo una minima flessione.<\/p>

Se ci sarà un impatto duro del “Black Friday” del poker online anche sulla serie più importante al mondo, si saprà solo dopo il calcio d’inizio delle World Series of Poker previsto per il 31 Maggio.<\/p>
