\"\"PokerStrategy.com:<\/strong> Prima di tutto, parlaci un po' del tuo background e di come hai iniziato a giocare a poker.<\/p>

Tri Nguyen:<\/strong> Ho iniziato a giocare a poker nel 2005, avevamo visto \"Rounders\" e così decidemmo di iniziare. Così iniziai ad andare al casinò a giocare a stakes bassi e successivamente ho iniziato a giocare online sempre a livelli bassi. Sono subito salito di livello perchè pensavo di poter vincere a stakes elevati; penso che sia andata così per molti players perchè ben pochi di noi capiva il bankroll management. Giocavo con solo 2 o 3 buy-in e scendevo di limiti appena ne perdevo uno. Per fortuna runnavo bene, un fatto che si valuta sempre troppo poco quando si parla di salire di livello.<\/p>

\"\"PokerStrategy.com:<\/strong> Quando hai cominciato a giocare e formulare una vere e proprie teoria sul poker?<\/p>

Tri Nguyen:<\/strong> Subito dopo essermi laureato a fine 2005, giocavo a sensazione e cercavo solo di sfruttare i miei avversari. Per descirvere cosa facevo allora, serve ovviamente parlare di teoria dfel gioco, ma allora non avevo idea di cosa fosse la teoria del poker. Pensavo che i giocatori che parlavano di teoria rendessero inutilmente complicato il gioco o che facessero i saputelli per giustificare il fatto che perdevano. Con il tempo, quando il gioco si è fatto più duro, è diventato invece necessario comprendere il poker proprio in quell'ottica, così ho iniziato a scrivere e a pensare alla teoria in modo da aiutarmi a comprendere non solo cosa andava bene fare, ma soprattutto perchè.<\/p>

\"\"PokerStrategy.com:<\/strong> Quando hai deciso di iniziare a scrivere non solo per te stesso ma anche per il grande pubblico?<\/p>

Tri Nguyen:<\/strong> Un giorno stavo pensando al poker e mi è venuta l'idea - \"Come farei se dovessi insegnare a qualcuno a giocare a poker?\". Ho capito che mi sarei concentrato sulle combinazioni delle mani: ecco perchè la prima parte del libro \"Let There be Range!\" si focalizza principalmente su questo. Successivamente ho iniziato a parlare con Cole South: è un giocatore eccezionale quindi abbiamo deciso di continuare a lavorare assieme. Il titolo è l'ultima cosa che ho scritto dopo che mi sono reso conto che gran parte del libro parlava dei range.<\/p>

\"\"PokerStrategy.com:<\/strong> Molte delle idee nel libro non erano mai state pubblicate primaa - ti sei mai preoccupato di aver svelato i segreti dei migliori giocatori?<\/p>

Tri Nguyen:<\/strong> Non ho mai pensato che importasse. Alla fine la gente trova tutte le informazioni, che sia tu o qualcun altro a scriverle. Molti giocatori non scrivono libri e non fanno video per paura che gli altri possano scoprire i loro segreti. La mia risposta è sempre: \"Non preoccuparti, ad ogni modo in 6 mesi qualcun altro lo farà\". A quel punto, i segreti saranno rivelati lo stesso ma loro non ci avranno guadagnato nulla.<\/p>

Scrivere con un amatore<\/h2>

\"\"PokerStrategy.com:<\/strong> Il tuo libro di strategia per principianti \"The Poker Blueprint\" ha ricevuto ottime recensioni ma è stato scritto con Aaron Davis che non è un poker pro e ne uno scrittore professionista. Ci puoi parlare di lui e del perchè hai scelto di lavorarci insieme?<\/p>

Tri Nguyen:<\/strong> Aaron in realtà era un mio studente più che un professionista conosciuto. Una delle ragioni per cui il libro è così popolare è perchè si basa su uno schema che ha creato lui con tutte le sue domande e argomenti sul poker che voleva conoscere. Allora insieme abbiamo risposto a queste domande. Per questo molti giocatori principianti lo trovano utile e probabilmente avrei trovato meno stimolante scrivere su argomenti per beginners senza qualcuno che mi diceva se scrivevo cose interessanti o meno. Sarebbe stato troppo difficile scriverlo per conto mio.<\/p>

\"\"PokerStrategy.com:<\/strong> Il tuo nuovo libro \"How I Made My First Million From Poker\" sembra essere totalemnte diverso dai precedenti lavori. Perchè hai scelto di scriverlo? Ci puoi dare un anticipazione?<\/p>

Tri Nguyen:<\/strong> Ho scritto \"How I Made My First Million From Poker\" con un tema simile a \"Ace on the River\" di Barry Greenstein e quando ho chiesto a Barry di scrivere la prefazione è stato così gentile da accettare. Il libro parla di come diventare un giocatore professionista di poker, incluso come mantenersi motivati e come migliorare il proprio gioco per rimanere sulla cresta dell'onda. Inoltre do consigli sulla gestione del bankroll, sul controllo del tilt, su come gestire il denaro e tante altre idee che sono sicuro miglioreranno la soglia di profitto di base di un giocatore.<\/p>

Ho finito per scrivere così tanti libri di strategia che avevo l'impressione che se ne avessi scritto un altro al solito modo non sarebbe stato tanto utile quanto farne uno di stampo diverso come questo. Credo che sia la stessa ragione per la quale a suo tempo Barry aveva scritto del lato non tecnico del poker nel suo libro. L'ho mandato ad alcuni pro che l'hanno letto e apprezzato e questo è stato fantastico.<\/p>

\"\"PokerStrategy.com:<\/strong> Che tipo di giocatore può trarre il massimo dal tuo \"How I Made My First Million From Poker\"?<\/p>

Tri Nguyen:<\/strong> Direi che va bene per i principianti e per i giocatori professionisti; ho anche scritto alcuni passaggi pensando proprio ai giocatori da nose-bleed. Anche se i miei amici a questi stakes sono tecnicamente molto preparati, hanno altri tipi di leak che a lungo termine possono limitare il loro successo. Ogni tanto viene fuori una nuova generazione di giocatori e spesso ciò che ne determina il successo o il fallimento non ha niente a che vedere con la loro abilità tecnica. Per esempio quando Isildur1 è arrivato, in poco tempo giocava a stakes altissimi contro top players, ma prima o poi arriverà un tipo di giocatore come lui ma più capace di controllarsi.<\/p>
