Fondamentalmente è un momento storico<\/strong>: il primo braccialetto \"pesante<\/strong>\" nella storia delle World Series asiatiche <\/strong>penzola in attesa che una fiumara di campioni si annulli per eleggere un vincitore. Si parte ed è subtio Esfandiari <\/strong>a rischiare grosso: The Magician<\/em> si spalma su un illeggibile full composto al river e parte con un piede che più sbagliato non si può.<\/p>

Particolarmente a proprio agio è sembrato Daniel Negreanu<\/strong>: il canadese aggredisce il proprio tavolo e trova subito un buon pot con una pocket di 7 che s'incastra perfettamente in questo flop: \"9\"\"9\"\"7\". Kid Poker<\/em> non s'è risparmiato il classico atteggiamento guascone <\/strong>ed è riuscito a tirare dentro l'avversario sentenziando: \"Fammi provare un po' di dolore: mi piace!<\/em>\"<\/p>

Non è altrettanto fortunata la giornata del vice campione WSOP Jesse Sylvia<\/strong>, che prima s'arrende alla classica mano che non si può non vedere (set <\/strong>contro straight<\/strong>), poi viene definitivamente bustato <\/strong>dal torneo con J4<\/strong> contro AJ<\/strong> e a terra l'insana presenza di J, 4 <\/strong>e A<\/strong>. Succede anche a chi ha vinto quasi 6 milioni di dollari<\/strong> in carriera.<\/p>

Oltre a Negreanu <\/strong>(che continua a fabbricare chips), è eccezionale anche l'avvio di Phil Ivey<\/strong>, il quale - fresco vincitore di un braccialetto nel mixed - sembra intenzionato a tentare un mitologico bis. Il Tiger Woods<\/em> del poker prima aggredisce da UTG riuscendo a ottenere il fold <\/strong>di due avversari al turn e facendo così proprio un bel piattone<\/strong>. Poi sfrutta un \"a\"\"3\" che s'imbuca in un trips <\/strong>al turn per rubacchiare moneta sonante al beniamino di casa Jerry Ausmus<\/strong>, che pur non avendo un nome altrettanto famoso è uno degli October Nine<\/strong> dell'ultima finale WSOP.<\/p>

Qua si va per il decimo braccialetto<\/i><\/font><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>

Le luci dei riflettori, alla fin fine, nonostante il parterre pulluli di fenomeni, sono puntate soprattutto su Negreanu <\/strong>e Ivey<\/strong>, che hanno giocato alla grandissima questo primo day. Il canadese è come sempre una fucina di spunti <\/strong>per i giornalisti e gli appassionati, che spesso cercano di interpretare <\/strong>ogni suo gesto. Basta, ad esempio, che Kid Poker<\/em> getti nel piatto le proprie fiches con un po' troppa irruenza <\/strong>per generare la diceria che qualcosa o qualcuno l'ha fatto arrabbiare<\/strong>. Arrivano perfino a chiederglielo, lui sorride e risponde: \"Ma no... è solo che stavo ascoltando 'Another one bites the dust' dei Queen e mi ero fatto trasportare dalla musica<\/em>\".<\/p>

Il canadese gioca molto e ne azzecca <\/strong>parecchie, ma le mosse che lo portano direttamente nei piani altissimi della graduatoria sono fondamentalmente legate a un... \"poker<\/strong>\" di Jack. I primi due (\"j\"\"j\") gli permettono di schivare l'\"a\"\"k\" del compagno di banco e andare così al raddoppio. Gli altri due (\"j\"\"j\") lo vedono raddoppiare sul \"q\"\"t\" di Collopy<\/strong>, che tenta il bluffone con regina alta e si vede girare in faccia un full di ganci e sei. A dimostrazione del fatto che sono i siparietti <\/strong>a cercare Negreanu e non il contrario, ci si mette perfino un erroraccio del dealer<\/strong> che aveva assegnato 1k in meno a Collopy, prontamente restituito dal canadese di propria iniziativa. \"Integrità e onestà<\/em>\", dichiarerà sorridendo. \"E poi non voglio un cattivo karma<\/em>\".<\/p>

Il momento è topico<\/strong>, perché a una sola ora dalla fine del day 1 arriva - col classico ritardo - Mr. 13 braccialetti sua maestà Phil Hellmuth<\/strong> in persona, il quale si siede al tavolo di Negreanu <\/strong>proprio mentre quest'ultimo aveva cominciato a flirtare <\/strong>con la ragazza che gli porta i pretzel (di cui Kid Poker<\/em> sembra ghiotto). Il canadese ha poi passato l'ora successiva a lamentarsi <\/strong>dell'aria condizionata, tanto che Poker Brat<\/em> a un certo punto s'è infilato le cuffie pur di non sentirlo più<\/strong>.<\/p>

Il torneo proseguirà domani e poi andrà avanti fino al 15 di aprile. Fra i tantissimi nomi straordinari in gioco sbuca quello di Jeff Lisandro<\/strong>, che sta tentando di stringere i denti ed è lievemente sotto average, ma con oltre 90 BB può tranquillamente ritagliarsi un posto in paradiso. Il poker tricolore<\/strong>, orfano qui di partecipanti, fa ovviamente il tifo per lui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
