Niente di strano, fin qui, solo che il mitico <em>PokerBrat <\/em>se l'&egrave; presa un po' troppo comoda per raggranellare il denaro, ed &egrave; arrivato all'ultimo momento con un clamoroso <strong>buco <\/strong>che non &egrave; riuscito a colmare.<\/p><p>La lunga giornata del <strong>30 giugno<\/strong>, ultimo giorno d'iscrizione per il torneo (entro le<strong> 10 e mezza <\/strong>di mattina), comincia all'<strong>alba<\/strong>: sono le 4 quando Phil si alza (pi&ugrave; o meno a quell'ora io vado a dormire, in genere) e decide di sentirsi <strong>bene<\/strong>. Non ha ancora scelto se giocher&agrave; il One Drop, ma comincia a pensare di farlo, perch&eacute; fisicamente si sente in gran forma.<\/p><p>Contemporaneamente dalla reception dell'albergo gli arriva la notizia che <strong>qualcuno comprerebbe le sue quote<\/strong>, allora <em>PokerBrat <\/em>manda questo divertente messaggio: <\/p><p><\/p><center>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"it\">\n<p>This would make a GREAT Reality Show: me raising $600,000 in the last couple hours for a poker tournament!!<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; phil_hellmuth (@phil_hellmuth) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/phil_hellmuth\/statuses\/483457592488759296\">30 Giugno 2014<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\"><\/script><br>\n<\/p><\/center><br><p>Il <strong>reality <\/strong>ha inizio e, incredibilmente, alle 7 il vecchio Phil &egrave; gi&agrave; arrivato a racimolare $800.000. Un'ora e mezza dopo, con due ore di anticipo sull'inizio del torneo, il <strong>milione <\/strong>&egrave; bell'e fatto. Phil allora si rilassa e se la prende <strong>comoda<\/strong>, gongolando come un caimano che ha appena divorato un paio di cinghiali, ma si trasforma nel mitologico ragionier <strong>Ugo Fantozzi <\/strong>quando, alle 10.26, si presenta al botteghino armato del suo milione.<\/p><p>Porc... <strong>mancano $130.000<\/strong>! Uno degli investitori, l'unico che Phil non conosceva di persona, era <strong>scomparso <\/strong>all'ultimo momento e dei suoi soldi non c'era pi&ugrave; nemmeno l'ombra. Con le pive in saccoccia, <em>PokerBrat <\/em>se ne ritorna scornato nella propria suite. Magari la prossima volta svegliarsi un po' prima?<\/p><p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-origin.pokerstrategy.com\/2013\/04\/15\/highstaker_banner-tamplate.png\" border=\"1px\" alt=\"Highstakers\" title=\"Highstakers\" width=\"585\" height=\"150\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\">Inizia il mese di luglio, ma noi vi dobbiamo ancora un report delle ultime ore del 30 giugno in modo tale da avere un computo totale del sesto mese dell'anno. Eccolo, con <strong>Ben Tollerene<\/strong> che fa capire chi comanda shippando l'ultimo day in qualit&agrave; di top winner e tornando lontano dalla soglia dei 3 milioni di guadagno.<\/p><p>Pochi spiccioli persi per <strong>Viktor Blom<\/strong>, mentre continua a languire lo spettacolo per via della totale assenza dei giocatori di grido, impegnati quasi tutti negli ultimissimi eventi delle World Series. Questo almeno &egrave; quanto si &egrave; evinto dall'inqualificabile siparietto andato in scena alle <strong>World Series<\/strong>, e precisamente sui tavoli del <strong>Big One for One Drop<\/strong>, dove i due si sono incontrati.<\/p><p>Come Polk s'&egrave; seduto, Cates l'ha subito accolto con parole traboccanti <strong>amore <\/strong>e <strong>amicizia<\/strong>: \"<em>Sei solamente una grossa testa di c...!<\/em>\".<\/p><p>\"<em>Benvenuto anche a te<\/em>\", gli avrei risposto io<strong>. <\/strong>Invece Douglas Polk si siede e <strong>tace<\/strong>, facendo ampiamente capire di conoscere benissimo il <strong>motivo <\/strong>per cui il collega &egrave; arrabbiato. Al successivo punzecchiamento, per&ograve;, risponde con un flebile: \"<em>Se vuoi misurarti con me facciamo un heads-up qui, subito, a qualsiasi gioco<\/em>\".<\/p><p><strong>Jason Mercier<\/strong> a questo punto prova ad addolcire i toni lanciando un simpatico: \"<em>Vi sfido io tutti e due, basta che non giochiamo a Hold'em<\/em>\". Tentativo generoso ma <strong>inutile<\/strong>: i due continuano a beccarsi di santa ragione. E pochi minuti dopo ecco chiaro a tutti il <strong>motivo <\/strong>di tanto <strong>odio<\/strong>.<\/p><p>\"<em>Vai in giro a dire che ti ho coachato solo 3 ore e ti sono bastate per battermi in HU. Ma tu sai benissimo che non sono state affatto 3 ore<\/em>\", accusa Cates. Polk tace, ed &egrave; quasi un'<strong>ammissione di colpa<\/strong>, e allora Daniel rincara: \"<em>Sei un fottutissimo ca..one!<\/em>\".<\/p><p>Agli ennesimi insulti, Polk ha uno <strong>scatto d'orgoglio<\/strong>: \"<em>Sei surreale, non si pu&ograve; andare avanti cos&igrave;. Perfino tua madre mi ha chiamato la scorsa notte per farmi i complimenti<\/em>\".<\/p><p>Qui cala il <strong>gelo<\/strong>: tutti i presenti giurano che da un momento all'altro Daniel Cates si alzer&agrave;, tirer&agrave; fuori dal taschino una <strong>motosega <\/strong>e far&agrave; tanti <strong>coriandoli <\/strong>di <em>WCGrider<\/em>.
