Con i maggiori tornei in corso su entrambi i lati del Pacifico, il PokerStars Championship Main Event ha comunque attirato un impressionante field di 536 iscritti nel suo debutto nel nuovo tempio del gambling, Macao. <\/strong><\/p>

In quello che sarebbe potuto essere un messaggio promozionale da sogno per il sito online, se avesse vinto, il qualificato tramite Spin & Go ha fatto il tavolo finale<\/strong>. Avraham Oziel dal Canada si è qualificato spendendo soltanto $11 e 10 minuti del proprio tempo, e alla fine è arrivato quarto vincendo $164,749. <\/p>

Tuttavia è stato il connazionale Elliot Smith, regular del circuito live, a garantirsi gli onori del vincitore dopo un deal heads-up con Terry Tang, di nazionalità cinese, che lo ha visto shippare il titolo e $370,508. <\/p>

Ma non è stato semplice, visto che non solo le negoziazioni si sono protratte per un'ora di tempo, ma addirittura l'heads-up si è rivelato una battaglia incredibile durata 10 ore e mezza. Si tratta del più lungo testa a testa nella storia degli eventi live di PokerStars. <\/strong><\/p>

La prossima tappa del PokerStars Championship sarà un classico: Monte Carlo, con inizio il 25 aprile. <\/p>

In quel di Hollywood il World Poker Tour si è concluso con il Tournament of Champions, evento da $15.000 a invito, riservato ai giocatori che hanno vinto almeno un titolo WPT. <\/p>

66 dunque i protagonisti che hanno dato vita a un durissimo tavolo finale, con gli occhi di tutti puntati su Erik Seidel e Michael Mizrachi.<\/strong><\/p>

Mizrachi aveva iniziato il day con un grosso stack e sembrava destinato a vincere il proprio terzo titolo WPT, ma non aveva fatto i conti con Daniel Weinman, che in heads-up lo ha battuto shippando $381,500. <\/p>

Weinman aveva vinto il WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open a gennaio assicurandosi così una sedia in questo evento finale, e raggiunge ora Sam Panzica, anch'egli vincitore di due eventi WPT in questa stagione<\/a>. <\/p>

Questo conclude la 16a stagione del World Poker Tour, che tornerà dopo le WSOP a luglio. <\/p>
