WPT Jacksonville

The WPT’s second foray in Florida kicked off on Friday with 125 players taking to the felt in Jacksonville.

A host of talent was on display on Day 1a with WPT regulars Tony Dunst, Jonathan JonathanLittle Little and Darren Elias all making it through to Day 2.

Indeed, it was the latter who broke the 200K mark, ending the day as chip leader with 213,000.

Day 1b proved more popular with 195 entrants handing over $5,000 to the casino’s cashiers. It was a case of déjà vu for some players as the re-entry format allowed the likes of Matt Marafioti to rejoin the action after busting Day 1a.

The moved proved a wise one as he ended the day on 113,200.

Because gambling laws allow anyone above the age of 18 to play in a Florida casino, the event has seen 6 fresh faced youngsters join the action.

One of the youngest, Brandon Barnes, turned 19 just before the start of the tournament and ended the day 3rd in chips.

iPOPS Begins Today

The Road to 80 Billion

PokerStars' billionth bonuses are back and bigger than ever. With the site’s 80 billionth hand scheduled to hit within the very near future, PokerStars have decided to mark the occasion with a series of milestone bonuses.

Between now and the 80 billionth hand you can get your hands on $1 million in prizes just for being at the felt.
Every millionth hand a lucky few seated at the right table will earn some free cash.

For those who manage to contest the 80 billionth hand, a $20,000 prize will be theirs.

High Stakes Corner

It was a relatively tame day at the virtual felt yesterday with the biggest winner of the day walking away with a modest $52,719.

Indeed, with the majority of nosebleed players preparing themselves for today’s EPT High Roller event, “Fake Love888” was able to bag a chart topping profit in just 131 hands.

Also taking advantage of the lull in action was “Tsubi87” (+$30,133) and “mikki696” (+$29,199).

At the other end of the spectrum “LhhmMaoly” had the worst luck of the day. The online grinder dropped $60,140 in just 34 hands. Also hitting a patch of negative variance was Richard “nutsinho” Lyndaker; the American lost $40,456.

Daily Signoff

Since today’s action has been a little tame, we thought we’d spice things up with a clip of Phil Ivey owning Andrew Feldman in a high stakes pot.

So what are his options? Overplay KQs by 4betting Ivey or make a tight fold vs such an aggro player?
