Deeb retakes the POY lead

We have the latest from the WSOP including the Main Event and the Poker Hall of Fame inductees.

Deeb back in the lead

The WSOP Player of the Year battle between John Hennigan and Shaun Deeb will see another change of lead by the end of tomorrow, as Deeb is in the final 17 of the $10,000 Six Handed Championship.

Deeb currently has 3,111 points with Hennigan on 3,181, but is guaranteed at least 233 in this event and could earn as many as 1,163.

It could all change though as not only is Hennigan deep in the $3,000 HORSE event but there is the small matter of Joe Cada still in the Main Event and could take the lead with a win.

Hennigan and Eskandani in the Class of 2018

Speaking of John Hennigan he is one of the two new inductees into the Poker Hall of Fame this year alongside legendary poker TV producer Mori Eskandani.

Hennigan got there by virtue of his five WSOP bracelets and reputation as one of the best Mixed Games players in the world, with Eskandani being the man behind iconic shows like Poker After Dark and High Stakes Poker.

Six remain in the Main

Michael Dyer took the cheese on the first day of the Main Event final table, getting twice the chips of his nearest rival, but we are still looking at the potential of a Joe Cada Main Event double
