Fedor Holz wins another High Roller

German Holz lands the partypoker LIVE Grand Prix Austria €2,200 High Roller for a first-place prize of €34,000.

Fedor Holz partypokerA relieved Fedor CrownUpGuy Holz finally overcame a “long and tiring” downswing over the weekend when he took down the partypoker LIVE Grand Prix Austria €2,200 High Roller even if, at €34,000, it was for a prize smaller than his usual buy-in size

Play took place at the Montesino Wien casino in Vienna and lasted over 14 hours, four of which were dedicated to the heads-up battle between Holz and fellow partypoker ambassador and countryman Jan-Peter Jachtmann.

Fifth tournament win of 2017

It was event that was to further demonstrate the current strength of German poker as, from a final table of nine, six places paid and all but five of these went to German players.

In all, 50 players, including other partypoker ambassadors Boris Becker and Natalia Breviglieri, entered creating an event with a prize pool of €100,000.

With over $24.4 million in tournament earnings mainly from High Roller events, last year 24-year-old Holz announced that he would retire from professional poker although his continuing accumulation of High Roller events, this being his fifth tournament win since the start of the year, disputes this claim.
